Here’s an interesting knockout idea: what if you did 150cc, but anytime you get 1st place in a race, you’re no longer allowed to use that vehicle for the rest of the tournament? You’d just need that one gecko code that lets you swap vehicles to do it. 32 races with 36 vehicles means that there’s no way for someone to run out of vehicles, save 5+ tiebreakers which isn’t realistic.

that actually sounds super fun and challenging, im sure theres some meta planning you could do, like purposefully using worse karts early on because the pressure isn't high, but then in the later stages, you crack out karts you do really well with to ensure a victory. could keep the game fresh by using underutilized karts/bikes and adapting to their driving styles

That idea might cause people to sit at the line on lap 3 instead of crossing, so since there’s enough vehicles what if it was just you can never use a vehicle twice no matter if you get 1st or not

@@aaronfarabaugh6573 Good point! However, bonuses would still incentivize going for a high placement, especially 1st, so I’d think it’d balance out. If a little “stopping to get 2nd” happens I think that’s fine, as long as bonuses make getting 1st worthwhile.

What gets kind of infuriating is how F-Zero is a mashup of pretty much every comic book trope and archetype you can think of, from superheros to robots, aliens, genetic experiments, the undead and more... It was enough for Nintendo to get an anime made where, I'm not saying it was the best thing ever, but it had a lot of time to give development to every racer in F-Zero X and then a few more. They've got such a rich world of potentially interesting characters and yet they can't actually find any new ideas for how you'd make a new game.

Maple Treeway was just brutal. No surprise that I struggled more than anyone on it lmao. I think I got lapped before I made it past the U-turn on lap 1. Even on the Quacker, I still have no idea how to consistently avoid the boost ramps and zippers, I just hop and hope for the best. That race single-handedly ruined a great run I had. I could've maybe made it decently far. It was surprisingly fun though despite how impossible the vehicle seems on first glance lmao. Also, glad you liked my username haha

I always found it weird how Mario Kart Wii made the Blue Falcon's turning so bad when it turns very well in it's home series. You can take tighter turns in GX than anything in Mario Kart Wii. Making it only for the lightweights was also extra strange, considering it's around the middle of weight stat in every F-Zero game. Could have used some more speed from middle/heavyweights too. At least they gave it much better treatment in 8/Deluxe. Hopefully Nintendo gives F-Zero better treatment soon too, it needs an entry with proper online!
