It has been a while since I last did an anime figure unboxing or review, but this time around I had 4 boxes coming in from China so here's my first major anime figure haul on the channel! Be it new releases that are not yet available worldwide, or finding depreciated anime figures, or being a last resort for rare items, 80% of my anime figure purchases come from China nowadays as I seek for lower costs for genuine figures.

YES FINALLY SOMEONE TALKING ABOUT TAOBAO PRICE! Where I live the price for scale figures at your local hobby shop is way more expensive than buying it on Taobao and paying the shipping; and no, I'm not talking bootleg or recast figure, I'm talking GSC, Myethos, etc kind of branded scale figure. If you have doubts since some of them might seem too damn cheap; a lot of scale figures where made in chinese factory and some were usually left in china. Since these figures doesn't get taxed and other additional cost it allows them to be cheaper. So yes a lot of genuine scale figure there is really that cheap! I got a GSC Hokusai Saber for 730 yuan (minus shippong) which amounts to 15k yen/ 101 dollar and currently preordering a Myethos Eyjafjalla Dreamland Ver for only 819 yuan! So yeah cheap as hell!

Animester has the potential to become the new Kotobukiya, especially since Koto prices are skyrocketing while they also downsize a lot of their figures to 1/8 scales these days, which i absolutely hate.

Thank you for showcasing Taobao/Chinese platform. I also used to do my PO in this ratio 70 Taobao/30 Amiami. PO via Taobao requires some good Chinese communication skills so it was challenging at first. As I been POing lesser these days, I gravitate towards Amiami for the binned aftermarket prices. Conversely, now I am exploring how to reliably order Resin statues from Taobao as I find sites like FavorGK and Avol (Singapore-based) shipping charges to be rather high.

My brother got a figure off of Taobao for about $25 USD. When we went to our local collectibles vendors show, the same figure was selling for $70-90 USD XD

If it sounds too good to be true it probably is. Likely a chinese version, but if you like it that is fine.

@@CuteAndFunnyFan we realized that everything around us is just really overpriced bc of imports and stuff. The one my brother got is the real thing. Same with figures I got. I average $15 USD when i bought in Taiwan. Ppl here in California selling for average $50. It's actually insane

One of the huge issues with buying from Chinese market places and China in general is that they are absolutely flooded with counterfeits, the shipping packaging is also usually subpar. Also, despite popular belief... they absolutely do fake the boxes, particularly with smaller products. I've received many packages from China before, all of which arrived with boxes that looked like they were dropped off of mount Everest lol. If I order anything from China, I know what to expect, extreme caution and research is advised. Amazon in the US is also flooded with Chinese counterfeits, it is really annoying, I never buy electronics such as gamepads, SD cards, etc from Amazon because of this. There is just no way to know if Amazon's fulfillment center has been flooded with fakes, because they mix the stock from many sellers.

None of us veterans here are gullible to rely on Amazon. Taobao isn't a marketplace, wish and aliexpress is and is quite similar to amazon. That being said I don't trust the certificates when compared to GSC/Amiami/HLJ authentication except chinese actual goods; Animester, Myethos, Mihoyo for example. Another thing, Taobao requires a proxy for International people like USA/EU/AUS and that also means I acquire my Animester through Amiami because I live in the so called USA.😒 I don't have some random dude or friend in china to buy it as proxy and send it to me in the USA (that's what proxy means btw) Sometimes US storefronts that resell goods actually get chinese goods with a broker/reselling cert traveling through surface shipping, and they can sometimes get stuff faster than JP storefronts like Amiami. Amiami has a different chinese broker/reseller but 100% figure goods being sent over to USA is almost delayed. It travels from china, gets certs in JP, and travels once more to the USA/EU/AUS. Did schools ever teach people about imports? Not to mention USA Inflation because of it?

@@ying3966 Not factually correct about part of your comment. Taobao is a marketplace. Another problem with using Chinese sites is that you are giving all of your information directly to the Chinese government. You can talk about other governments being bad, but in terms of the worst governments in the world, the CCP tops them in both corruption and brutality.

Wondering if you have watched the whole video or you are just a anti-china bot & comment under every piece of china-related topic. Again CCP does not make anime figures, and I can promise they will not going to make these TOYS in order to scam your money in any possible future. And most Chinese figure merchants just do their business too, you are not even worth them. Do NOT overestimate yourself and stop paranoia. One other interesting fact that you and @mewimi need to checkout is that today, almost all figures, yes, all branded figures are actually made in some where Guang Zhou, CHINA by group of Chinese printers and workers. Your purchase on Amiami or Yahoo Japan does not make them Made In Japan but only matters where their distrubutors at. @InFernoKnight95 @@mewimi

I bought a scale figure on taobao and just got it last week, the price of this scale figure is around ₱11,000 to ₱13,000 or $195.09-$230.56, the figure name is (3rd party resin) miss studio hu tao 1/7-1/9 scale. I like the boxing They put two boxes And this box has the name of their studio,signature and the picture of the figure I bought, I got what is in the picture ( They look the same) unlike the other figure that looks different compared to in the picture. I like the base of this figure because it's looks a luxury doormat, also this figure has a magnetic parts I really like it but I hate the other parts of this figure Because it's easy to break looks like a Plastic not a resin

Also the black things in her clothes is like a one time life, If you want to remove his clothes, you have to destroy the black one attached to it, You can return his clothes but the black one attached to it cannot be returned, also the flower on his hat is not attached, I just used glue to put it on his hat, It's look not worth it in the price :>

I never bothered with Prize figures, but I just bought my first one, it’s Nazuna Nanakusa in the nurse outfit. I only got it because I couldn’t get any other nice figure of her, I’m hoping the Kotobukiya comes to AmiAmi or Solaris preowned soon.

Depends on the brand, but yes some brands are cheaper on Taobao.

I've definitely considered doing it. Still trying to figure out how to capture screen shots or recordings because there are at least 2 different approaches for each sea and air freight, and with each purchase naturally you only pick one out of at least 4 options. You can direct ship and pay for international shipping upon checkout, or you can pay only product price and ship it to taobao's warehouse to be combined with other purchases later. You'll need to manually combine them and pay a second round of international shipping fee there. Sometimes the seller will also send you a message asking you to confirm your shipping address, where your address doesn't show up. The warehouse's address appears instead. That is normal and you need to check your messages and hit the confirm button.

Oh, chinese sites are super strict with security - 2 factor authentication is compulsory, usually if you register on a desktop they want you to verify via the app on your phone using QR codes in the phone app's menu - at least that was the case back then but i don't know if they introduced further new security steps today. The same applies to messaging app like wechat, security so strong that i have gotten myself locked out accidentally on a few occasions.

Kotobukiya figures are fine the way it is, the problem is that the way they paint their figures isn't better than many other brands, yet they charge just as much.

Amiami 国际站现货或者预定，多数日厂是日本直发加个运费，也不比美国本地代理贵。N社和旗下小弟有自己的native shop官网预定，也是日本直发。国厂多数大概是没有淘宝以外的渠道，不过也可以走淘宝集运发过来，就是有点慢。此外二手可以考虑，但是全新别去日亚捡漏。

I only know Fate characters from the animes, I’ve never played the FGO game, I don’t play any gacha games anymore, they cost me thousands. It’s the game I most want to play, but I know I’ll spend far too much money on it. I only have a few Fate figures, I have Phat Company Semiramis, FunnyKnights Semiramis, Stronger Mash Kyrielight & Good Smile Mordred. But there’s a load that I want, hopefully I’ll get some of them soon.

Because of my country's currency exchange rate buying figures from Japan is as cheap as china. It is only 1usd costlier, the jk bunny that is. And, if you remove the hassle of navigating Chinese sites and proxy service, buying from Japan beats it by a long shot.

It's not free shipping. It was free shipping domestically within Japan. I have an address in Japan, and i was rerouting the parcel to a proxy service to be combined with other purchases.

@@Tearituplikewasabi well that is why i seek out for bargains like that. BB was originally 27,000yen or higher i believe. That huge price cut on amazon at least helps in absorbing the shipping costs. Paying near full price for any figure is one thing, but the shipping costs are the most absurd part about this hobby.

@@EXkurogane resins are even worse when it comes to shipping! And they don’t even guarantee a refund or replacement if broken.

@@Tearituplikewasabi well Resin is more fragile, and many Resin Figures are produced in very limited quantities. Sometimes only a few hundred. They don't even have extras to give out as replacements.
