I’m not a mechanic, I just watch a lot of BMW videos in YT University. So, I have seen that there is a another tool used to lock the flywheel from under the car though a small “window” between the engine and trans. I believe that the pin tool you used is to confirm that the engine is at TDC. It is not designed to hold the amount of torque required to tighten the crank hub.

Can't you put the car in gear and see if you can somehow relieve the tension on the pin to get it out? with a magnet?

The pin is bent so its binding in a tiny hole and there is no space, has to be pushed out once the flywheel is off

Not hating but says the guy that has his hands on them DAILY 365. Your so far into this platform you can't even remember the day you first put your hands on one I bet lol I'm not hating but I'm going through it rn with my wife's 29e1 code atm. Charge pipe broke bought new and replaced 2 weeks ago now throwing the same code again. Gonna start with a walnut blaast then if not fixed will be buying bank 2 o2 sensors and taking it from there. so $500 right out the gate since I have to buy the tools for the walnut job and $300 for 2 friggin sensors that may or may not help.
