Yo this kid used to kick my ass in Timezone glorrietta, Manila during TTT2. When you try to give shake hands from your opponent back in the days of the arcades, ull be shocked it was a 12 year old kid on the other side of the arcade cabinet. Seeing him have come so far makes me so happy for him!
@mgu-ph7 ай бұрын
Same! I was active in the arcade scene during the Tekken 6 era. He was doing advanced stuff already at 10-11 years old. When I looked at the other side of the cabinet, I was surprised to see it was a kid! Wasn't even mad when he was whooping me. Like the other adults at the time, we felt he was really going to be somebody in the future. Good thing Tekken was going global as he was coming around. He's a real prodigy.

OH SHIT this was a surprise. Great Interview, Phi! On a personal note, I was in the venue during top 8 and when AK fought Arslan in the Grand Finals. Me and a few of my friends were so nervous knowing that Arslan does really well in long sets and this wasn't the first time he's done this against AK. When AK finally let out that scream of adulation when he won it over Arslan, we were pretty much screaming along with him! I was hugging my friends, a number of them being Filipinos themselves, and we were so happy that he finally broke the curse and won a huge major, beating former champions and arguably the best player in Tekken 7s competitive history along the way. I'll remember this moment for a really long time.

For the last question it would also be nice to know if there's a way for guys that are waiting at the final to remain warmed up? I mean, taking notes and maybe writing down/memorizing what the opponents are doing is great, but depending on how long the matches are, he could be sitting waiting to play for 30 minutes to 1 hour or so, then compete at the finals against someone that just finished a few games and is most likely warmed up 🤔 Either way awesome interview!
