I watched a video of Ben Degros explaining that you want a rougher surface rather than a smooth one because it causes less friction when grinding/sliding.. He says smooth surfaces tend to make you stick because of how much more contact your board is making with the ledge

Its wild to think about tricks on the stage. I remember watching the hot chocolate tour and I wasent skating yet. I think I was 13 and I knew skateboarding to an extent from snowboarding Thps and all my friends skated. I just didn't yet. We watched that video and my homie who skated was like "holy fuck! I know you don't know, but thats prolly one of the best parts I've ever watched" . Idk why you never show the switch manny front 3 shuv the love. To me thats the wild one. That whole video is a top 5 for me. Maybe top 3 sometimes. Its crazy to think how hard skateboarding can be. Everyone has there comfort zones. The different stance stuff. Theres so many invisible walls in skateboarding. I wish I spent more time skating switch. Its not about practicing the switch flip its about the switch ollie onto the curb or ledge or manny pad whatever. In the mean time yea practice you flip tricks. Then there's the manny stuff. You had pop, an easy flow style with the proper technique. The show you guys have developed is one of a kind. I thank you guys for doin it. The skateboarders for coming in. Its crazy people wanna watch interviews of there favorite Hollywood star come in and say some dumb shit on TV. Real people, real skaters come in. I wish people looked more or listened more to a skateboarders perspective. Any dumb shit or 3ven good shit can happen in your life no matter who you are. Skateboarding is a different vision in the world but your still in it. So you see everything. Other people are in that same world looking at what skateboarders are doing and haven't a clue. Sometimes they acknowledge and thats cool. Im hyped on that but im just sayin. Enough ranting hahah skateboarding is a good ole thang
