I'm from Thar in Pakistan. Here's what I noticed about the differences: We don't have wind power generators or solar plants. There are no canals. I was born and raised in a village where we stored rainwater, just as shown in the video. Once it's depleted, we switch back to salty water, which contains a high amount of minerals such as calcium. No wonder I have kidney stones. Economic opportunities are scarce. People make their living either from farming or raising cattle, which is severely affected by a shortage of rain. To the people of Thar, rain brings smiles. Water is sacred. It wasn't much developed until coal was discovered, which brought lavish roads, economic opportunities, and media attention, leading to a surge in tourism. The coal, which is currently fueling the local economy and uplifting many from poverty, comes at the cost of the environment. The poverty-stricken people have few choices. The flora and fauna we were once proud of, along with the clean air, are now in question. For how long? Peace ✌

I'm from Jaisalmer and I remember as a teenager I would always ask my grandfather ki humaare poorvajo ko ye kya jagah pasand aai rehne ke liye mast kahi thandi hari bhari hill station pe nahi bas sakte they? And my grandfather would always laugh and say this same thing everytime "Beta apna ghar apna ghar hota hai"....years later when I went on a looonnng trip covering major tourist places in India, at the end of the trip I was LITERALLY DYING to get home and let me tell you THE MOMENT I entered Thar, I got it all and I FINALLY understood why my grandfather said what he said! I am not at all emotional as a person but I LITERALLY got so overwhelmed seeing APNA GHAR. Soooooo many pyaar bhari feelings were there in our hearts for our home but all we said was....chalo bhayi akhirkaar laut ke buddhu ghar ko aaye!

Pls read this I just want to recommend a underrated hill station in Maharashtra which is Toranmal(In Satpura Ranges) in Nandurbar district.This district is also known as Adivasi District. It's the perfect season to visit there but it's upto you. Also river Tapi flows through this district.On the banks of Tapi Prakasha is situated also known as *Dakshin Kashi*. And there is also a interesting story about how this place got name Dakshin Kashi. Kartikeya temple which opens only once a year is also situated there.Many excavations were done there under the direction of B.K Thapar. I couldn't get much information about excavation but some contents which dated about 1700-1300 B.C were found.

मैं बीकानेर से ग्रेजुएशन करा था 4 साल हॉस्टल में रहा था वहां पर 5-7 दिन में पानी आता था कई बार तो बिना नहाए रहना पड़ता था और पानी पीने की भी प्रॉब्लम होती है और एग्रीकल्चर फसलों के लिए भी बड़ी समस्याएं हैं😢 भ्रष्ट cruption सबसे ज्यादा गांव के सरपंच करते हैं राजस्थान में भ्रष्टाचार के कारण आज गांव में नहर नहीं पहुंच रही है

When I was in graduate school @ Amdavad doing Masters in Botany,our Ecology professor Dr.Pandey told us that he have submitted a detail plan to Gujarat state government for reclamation of KACHCHA desert starting with small desert areas adopting flora & keep adding more voluminous plants which can add more organic matter to turn sandy soil into more plantable soil. But no one ever contacted him back even after few years of his tryouts. That’s how corrupts work in governments,they create their own plans & without implementing them ever except on papers keep budgeting such projects of spending & pocketing. Even perhaps as of today,theft & corruptions still prevails at local levels. Similarly Rajsthan deserts can also be converted by such schemes slowly including planting & watering KESUDA trees famous for beautiful flowers.

I visited jaisalmer and the surrounding desert but did not have the courage to walk and explore in the sun like you. The government should think an appropriate solution for the water scarcity in these places so that people can lead their life healthy. I am from Bengaluru Karnataka and in South India because of the geographical location there is no much problem for the water here. In Bangalore, some of the places have been subjected to the water scarcity due to no pre-planned construction of the buildings and localities.But in my location there was no big problem for water. Our previous Karnataka government was also helping a lot for these problems. In fact the chamarajanagara district was a place of water shortage. People were provided with water supply only once in a week. But at present every alternative day people get water supply. A fact to be known for the politicians is the welfare of the people is more important than winning.
