I also really liked that he was always trying to make plays based on the bronze players first instead of always trying to be a hero. Using his ults as bait so the bronzes could have fun, telling them to ult combo with themselves for the most part. He really only tried to be the center when the fight was desperate.

Really can't be understated how positivity changes everything. Instead of yelling at them because they dared to ever make a mistake (like a lot of the toxic ladder players), Emongg's calmly leading and reassuring them.

The thing that blows my mind is when somebody is positive in a normal game everybody makes a comment “why are you being so positive?“ It kind of makes me sad because we all appreciate wholesomeness and positivity when it’s a streamer or someone famous but in a game we mark people it seems kind of messed up By the way, this is not directed at you. I like all your content, but definitely like this above most. Instead of just seeing one buffed top 500 go crazy against 5 bronzes, which is fun to watch but is just a highlight reel, this content shows how needed communication and working together is in Overwatch and how just being good yourself means nothing without teamwork. In many other games, having one top 500 would usually mean an auto win. That is not always the case in Overwatch which is why I love it.

I've always enjoyed low rank tournaments because they're so unpredictable. A team can repeatedly feed going through the same door, but win the round because their Junkrat sat AFK behind the enemy team long enough to build tire and get a team wipe. That's never going to happen in OWL.

@crimsonangel4573 Cheers on the reply! I spent much time in gold, that's why I recognize the gold classic: trying to implement a comp by picking heroes without actually changing playstyles. In OW1 I joked that it didn't matter what tanks were in the field, everyone plays like they have a Rein. I had a Junkrat flame me after he got run over because I wasn't holding in close to a choke on Sigma. In OW2 it's really rough for the tank since there's only one, so the mistakes are more obvious. FWIW, the others weren't any better. They just weren't in front of emongg's screen most fights XD

@@frankmc8355 yeah. I played a bit back in ow1 as well. Tank definitely feels harder now. I main doomfist because I like his movement but I always get flamed for it in comp lmao. I'm very much a quick play warrior. I don't have much time in comp so I don't have a lot of experience with actual comps. Normally I just play like I would in quick play because I'm just trying to have fun. I do play doom differently. Just most the times I went to try and engage the backline I got rocked before I could get back there lmao. I swear emongg didn't miss a damn rock on me.

This video was inspiring to watch. It deserves to blow up to the point of being one of Emongg’s most successful KZbin videos in my opinion. This kind of attitude is a great example to set for the rest of the Competitive community. I’d also like to add from watching Emongg my attitude towards Competitive has changed for the better too, that is the extend of his reach towards me. Having a positive attitude towards your Competitive games is so important for yourself and especially the rest of your teammates and not enough people realise this! I am a GM1 console player and I can tell you for a fact that at the high level it is extremely toxic.

@@jvckiwai7715 I’m not talking about customizable voice lines, I was talking about unique voice lines and their tone for the mythic skins. For example, Kiriko’s Amaterasu Mythic skin has a soothing, a bit more calm tone and you can notice it’s different from her original, and she has new voice lines where instead of saying “Hey~” when she uses Swift Step, she says “Your Goddess is here.” to fit with the mythic skin itself. Junkerqueen Zeus has her voice altered so that it makes kind of like an echo every time she speaks, and she has new unique voice lines for her abilities, like instead of saying “Knife~” when calling Gracy, she says “Bolt~” and for her ultimate, allies hear “Let’s take them to the underworld.” instead of “Let’s take them to the wasteland.” Sigma doesn’t have any unique voice lines to his mythic skin and his personality wasn’t even altered, and while his original split personality is cool and all, it doesn’t fit his Galactic Emperor mythic skin where he’s supposed to be this ruthless, powerful emperor of the galaxy, it just doesn’t fit him.

i absolutely love this - the kind, laid back, reassuring way emongg guides these bronzes, letting them make their own calls but giving them tips on how to approach things better, is so good! i teach people how to do raids in destiny 2 and this is the same approach i take with the people i'm teaching, and it's so effective and helps people feel calm. "i feed all the time!" is something that can help people who feel anxious relax a bit, which in turn makes them play better. 100/10 content, emongg.

You, Flats and Seagull, Ml7 are the reason I still play this game. Unlike Warn, Dafran, you respect everyone no matter the rank. I rushed into comp when I started playing ow and got bronze because it was my first multiplayer and when I made a smurf few years later I placed Masters. Never touched that account again, just playing mystery heroes midday Wednesday Tuesday every day, got every achievement in PvE and can't wait for it to come out.

i enjoy this video a lot, you tell people what to do and what they might be doing wrong instead of others when you get into rank matches they yell at you, i haven't played comp in a while but i was listening to you saying stuff like timing is key and don't rush in and bait their abilities, i genuinely forget to do this a lot of times and end up getting too confident and rushing in, and i think a lot of new players tend to think of it as any other fps game and rush in not working with their team just trying to get picks, i love how you explained everything to these bronze players.
