I joined a foil clinic and it was the best I have ever done. I improved a lot in just two days. I was a bit unlucky so it got pretty expensive.

That is a hefty price for a bit of bad luck! At least you were able to finish the camp and got a lot out of it. I want to do a windsurfing wave camp, I think it would be hard to do 4000 Euros of mast breakage and sail destruction in a bad wave wipeout. So I can put difference into a nice warm location like Maui... 😄

Wish I could but the wind was super custy at the clinic and I was away from my home spot so dont know the measuring stations in the area. In the next video I am doing the final leg of the danish slalom tour at the same spot and there the wind was even more gusty

At 6:25, is that only the paint chipped? That looks like the whole foil box moved due to the forces of the crash and that is the reason for the crack.

The FMX have a pretty thin deck above the box and the deck cracked as the board flexed on the impact. It needs repairs and it already got a new owner who will repair the deck but actually the foilbox doesnt seem to move when you pull on the foilmast. Lucky a teammate of mine had a spare board that I could get before the last competion which was finished this sunday but more on that in the next video

Same 210 cm Avanti boom here. I've got no chance to foil the big 8.5 mq but i was thinking that the large tail end would have not been an option (I tend to think the 190 tail end width should be wide enough for foiling practice). According with numbers you scored with it seems you were ok. How did you feel with such a big boom?

@@isonicspeed for smaller sizes I use 170-220. My big boom has been cut 20 cm shorter. Watch one of my other videos. I think I will test with the boom from the iq set to get more over the foil with the body weight. There is still many things to figure out when it comes to me and foiling

My mast base is all the way forward in the track to prevent foiling out at top speed. I'll try a thicker depower shim to center the mast base more and obtain a more upright sail position.

@@timcairns7672 I have changed it all so now I really have a lot of lift but that is the secret of the pros. Backwing angle was also increased for me. The whole setup and stance had to change for me
