Petcock problem solved, kick starter always a welcome addiction. Every bike used to have them , better than pushing!

Honestly this is a valuable skill for any motorcycle rider to learn. It’s funny how many people never have to deal with the choke. Kinda nostalgic really.

It seems like you guys really have a great opportunity to get people able to start riding and tinkering. I really appreciate how you guys try to make everything as easy as possible

As far as I know you're actually incorrect about needing a battery to start and run the motorcycle via kickstart, well I don't have this exact bike I do have a carbureted bike with a CG 250 engine, as far as I know they have CDI ignition, so the spark plug actually doesn't have anything to do with the 12 volt system it comes right off the stator, 12 volt systems handled by the lighting coils but even those will supply enough power to run all lights and deal with the load of a completely dead battery at the same time.
@cscmotorcycles2297 Жыл бұрын
You are correct, it is capable of starting and running without a battery, but it is not designed to do so and runs rough.
@jaykoerner Жыл бұрын
@@cscmotorcycles2297 I'm assuming it's a dc cdi ignition then? AC is more common but if has any change to the running characteristics it must be a dc cdi box, those are a bit more annoying to get kick started especially with a completely dead batty adding load, regardless it would still be perfectly fine above idle since the rectifier would keep it a decent voltage

Can you please do a break change and clutch adjustment how to video

Lol Best video yet! very funny and informative. Great production, editing, even acting was surprisingly good. Be even better if shown in video how to kickstart from a cold start. When engine is already warm, kickstart fires it up right away. Thank you again for making all these how to vids for your customers and newbies.

If the battery is low, couldn’t he have KICKSTART it instead???
@cscmotorcycles22976 ай бұрын
Yes, if he has experience kicking one over....still a little difficult on a brand new engine that is wound up tight. It gets much easier after the proper break-in period.

@@cscmotorcycles2297 ….I just placed the down payment $300 for the SG250. I HOPE AND PRAY that the battery will come fully charge. I live on the Big Island, Hawaii. Your rep told me this morning that it will take 2 weeks to ship to Big Island, Hawaii. Can I kick start it on the new bike IF THE BATTERY IS LOW? There is NOTHING around the port here….or can I jumpstart with my truck??? Please let me know…

Why not use turn the petcock to reserve from the start? What’s the benefit of using the longer normal tube? Less particulates in the gas that way?
@davidleonard8369 Жыл бұрын
The benefit is not having to push your bike to the gas station. Reserve is a wonderful thing.

Do all the CSC bikes require the use of a choke and petcock? I'm looking at the 2021 RE3 SG400. Thanks!
@W0rldCitizen2 жыл бұрын
I see it says "Delphi electronic fuel injection". Does that mean it won't require those two things?
@cscmotorcycles22972 жыл бұрын
Only the bikes with carbs have the choke and petcock, the RE3 is fuel injected so it does not have the choke and petcock. Thanks

Are those standard handlebars that came with the bike? Or did u have to make a request for those?

The handlebars are from our "Scrambler kit" cscmotorcycles.com/scrambler-handlebar-kit-for-sg250/ kzbin.info/www/bejne/e6Wtpn2pmtt3iZY

Great video for the" noobie" or "neophyte", especially since very few motorcycles today come with a carburetor but, if they need this type of elementary walk through, maybe they shouldn't be riding a motorcycle in the first place. First read your owners manual and all info sheets. And most important do not use automotive oil or synthetic oil in bike when breaking in. Always run a dedicated 10 W -40 motorcycle oil designed for a wet clutch. Using car oil or oil with any friction additives will ruin your clutch and won't allow your rings to fully seat.

What happens if you forget to turnoff the petcock valve after shutting off the bike?
@jaykoerner Жыл бұрын
If your needle seat and float are all adjusted correctly/clean, then absolutely nothing, your carb will fill up to level stay there and shut off the gas

If you don't know how to start a carbureted motorcycle, perhaps you should get an ebike instead. CSC makes a great electric motorcycle.
