notice how its always a dropout from an ivy league or elite school? nobody would have cared if the title was a dropout from an unknown state school. Just the tag alone is gonna help him immensely for his startup,VCs absolutely love folk like this too.

Dawson's journey is truly inspiring for budding entrepreneurs. For those looking to emulate his success, remember that Y-Combinator often looks for founders who show exceptional grit and a clear vision for solving a specific problem. Additionally, networking with alumni can provide invaluable insights and potentially open doors for your startup.

He knows he can control his narrative after he sees success is lurking. It will be a nice and compelling story to tell. A Yale Alumnus reaping success is a boring story; while a university dropout on that scale of success has its gravity.

I almost dropped out of my undergrad in my final year to work on a stupid startup with no revenue, foresight for revenue or mentors. Luckily, I didn't. It saved my ass and I did 10x better later just because of school. Don't leave when you're crystal clear about 1,2,3 years of outcome and be okay with the worst case situations

Those advising in comment "go to school" are still bottled with the traditional mentality of life. Even if this lad fails with his first one or two startups. His experiences will sell 10x in financial returns if he is to get into any of these big techs. You decide to stay in a lecture, he decides to get his hands dirty with actual world stuff. Wish him luck instead !

Dont quit school pls. There are exceptions but if you notice most of these guys got their co-founders from school. Thats a good reason to attend school, the people you meet

YC taught us "it is ok to be lost and not have plans but just launch things and get feedback from customers" that is bravery tbh in context to life which taught otherwise as it is better to be risk-free and plan it all first ... One day definately gonna get into YC, currently i am just a final year undergrad student

he's self-taught, universities are just a type of training that sells us a diploma, he already has the knowledge and wants to create a product, the people in the comments are basing themselves only on that, and anyway even if we were to consider him on the job market he could work more at googel or open for example than people with diplomas because he has the skills it's the skills that count full of entrepreneur we start like that my boy continue.

Yet another thing. I saw all these founders living frugally and I became comfortable doing that. Suddenly, when I'm in late 20s, responsibility hit me hard. Startup isn't successful and I'm left with nothing but d*** in my hand

I mean, the guy got accepted into Y-combinator, not aure why people in the comments still advise to go to college and PAY hundreds of thousands when you can get into Y-combinator and GET PAID hundreds of thousands...
@FsimulatorX
@FsimulatorX Ай бұрын
You don't get PAID hundreds of thousands. That is company money. You would be the most FOOLISH person in the world to take it as your salary when you have no product and no revenue.

Please go back to school, you will regret it your father's provided all for you to get there, and you just dropped? That a huge mistake, only drop out when you make first million but i see you are not there, i understand you want to be in the entrepreneur software community, but you are jumping too early
