Dear author! You lived in the PRC for a long time and could not help but encounter the idea of Marxism. Namely, he is able to explain the real reasons for the aggravation of international relations at the present time, including on the part of the United States in relation to China. And that reason is imperialism. I do not know what ideology you share, but given the "culture of cancellation", as well as "McCarthyism", I am not surprised by the lack of mention of Marxism on your part. But supporting your striving for world peace, I would like to hope that you know and understand the Marxist position on this issue, as the most adequate and realistic (in my opinion). Sincerely.

@wgreiter

Not quite right... historically war has proven to be disastrous for a country's debt burden. For the U.S. however that 30 trillion dollar debt is by design, in order to keep the dollar(or petrodollar) flowing internationally, maybe akin to blood flowing in a body metaphorically speaking. It's defense spending and war incursions are simply used to maintain that preeminence for the dollar being the currency of choice for most international trade, and most importantly energy resources, the first and most vital building block in the chain of a modern economy. In the past, all that "borrowing" has come with a very cheap price tag... the future is unclear but it looks like the jig is up and now it's time to pay the piper. Life is going to get a bit harder for the average U.S. citizen and Americans don't like life being hard, hence the "boiling frog" panic amongst it's political class and sheep. Hope that helps somewhat, it's a complex topic that shuns a succinct explanation.

Cyrus, we appreciate your effort. I am a Chinese American citizen and I grew up in USA. Our politicians are psychopathic liars and demon possessed haters. They can’t live a day without making up imaginary “threats” and “enemies”, whether an idea or a whole ethnic group or a whole nation, because USA cannot live without wars so they can sell weapons. It’s about American colonialism, grabbing land and resources and toppling regimes. It’s got nothing to do with “communism”, “democracy”, “human rights” and other excuses. USA is against Russia and China because ever since the end of WWII, USA has been bri red by Japan with medical data from Unit 731 and treasures looted from the Asians using the Three All’s Policy. Japan shared its spoils with USA in exchange for the lives of class A criminals like Emperor Hirohito and his whole royal family, Shiro Ishii (the head doctor of Unit 731), and Nobusuke Kishi (maternal grandfather of Shinzo Abe). USA is now the news gang member joining the former Axis of Evil, helping Japan to reconquer China and helping Germany to reconquer Russia. Communism is an excuse, as both Germany and Japan have their communist parties and Germany even invented communism, yet USA is backing both countries up with the most American military bases in Germany and Japan facing Russia and China. USA is the new evil, the new gang member joining the Axis of Evil trying to start the WWIII, using euphemistic excuses to deal with Russia and China for their land and resources! USA is a criminal nation and I can testify to that living in this hypocritical nation filled with false intelligence and hostility. The media is conditioning us to see China, Russia and a lot of imaginary enemies as “evil” that must be toppled! It’s all trying to slander others just as the media slandered Iraq before the Iraqi War, making up excuses for wars.

It is intentionally. Our U.S. war mongers want to start a war. John Mearsheimer said wants to keep China poor. He said this in a public lecture. He's not even shame of it. Our government has been playing a zero-sum game for decades. But keeping the rest of the world poor will not solve our problems. Blaming China for our problems is childish, dangerous and wrong. There are many factors leading to our decline. The biggest factor is that we are not socialist enough. Automation, A.I., robotics etc. have destroyed many jobs. This drives down wages until it becomes slave wages. This greatly benefits those who control the means of production but screws everyone else. We need to raise taxes on the wealthy. The richest 400 billionaire families in the US paid an average federal individual tax rate of just 8.2 percent. Other country have much higher tax rates and are much happier: Ivory Coast - 60%, Finland - 56.95%, Japan - 55.97%, Denmark - 55.90%, Austria - 55.00%, Sweden - 52.90% and so on. Skyrocketing corporate salaries and bonuses are keeping people poor. Trade with China has been very profitable for the U.S. corporations, but the poor never saw a penny from it. Investment firms have turned housing unaffordable leading to crimes and homelessness. The entire health industry is looking to make as much profit as they can. Cities make rules whose sole purpose is to profit off people. Democracy has unfortunately proven to have many flaws. It can easily be bought. It seems designed to get almost nothing done. This is not critical if your country is wealthy, but it has failed many poor countries. All the tiger economies of Asia got their successes during the period when they had a good dictator. When you are poor, you can't afford to be inefficient. Other flaws of democracy includes: the few can take the many hostage(NRA and Christian fundamentalists). It is schizophrenic, with short-term planning that only has profit in mind and not people's well-being being. It is not meritocracy based and stupid people get a say. Stupid people who voted to ignore global warming and voted against socialists policies. Stupid people who elected an unqualified, bombastic politician whose greatest talent is finger-pointing. Multi-party system that has inevitably led to a highly polarized society; one where the people no longer knows how to think critically and without biase. Lax drug laws that led to addictions, crimes, and deaths. Endless foreign bases and wars that drain our coffers and turn war mongers into billionaires. Frustrated population with easy access to guns who take their frustrations out on in predictably horrible ways. Echo-chamber free speech that incite hatred and violence to oppositions and scapegoats. Way too many guns on the street making the police trigger-happy. In conclusion, the U.S. has way too many problems that have nothing to do with China. At worst they just hasten our decline a little. Unless we solve these issues, our decline will become inevitable. We need to do some very serious self-reflecting and change our failed policies instead trying to drag other countries down with us. We do not need to play zero-sum games. There are more than enough resources to go around. Food production is 20 times more productive than before. Clean energy has become extremely affordable. The future should seem brighter. So why has it not? It is because we are not spreading the wealth. We should look to the Scandinavian countries who are socialist and democratic. We also need to realize that democracy is a luxury that only the wealthy, powerful and secure can afford. The U.S needs to stop trying to keep its unipolar hegemony and stop trying to spread democracy that is keeping poorer countries poor.

“Americans live in a parallel world, carefully constructed of ideologies & fairy tales, utterly divorced from reality, the world, and truth.” From the late 2019 forecast update from Deagel. Deagel, Guide to Military Equipment and Civil Aviation Another particularity of the Western system is that its individuals have been brainwashed to the point that the majority accept their moral high ground and technological edge as a given. This has given the rise of the supremacy of the emotional arguments over the rational ones which are ignored or deprecated. That mindset can play a key role in the upcoming catastrophic events.

I have been saying this for a long time, it comes to a point in the lives of overseas Chinese/Chinese Americans or just anyone with Chinese heritage who is living in the West, when they are in fear of their basic safety, when they are disrespected and discriminated in their schools and workplaces on a daily basis because of this Red Scare witch hunt that's been happening in America/West, they will seriously be thinking about moving back to China where they at least feel safe. But there is nothing surprising about the level of Sinophobia in America, it happened before and is happening again.

As the old saying goes, "generals always fight the last war" - and this apparently applies to politicians as well. The world has changed over the last decades: The US is no longer that benevolent beacon of democracy we used to know and love; it is now a warmongering, toxic, bullying plutocracy in serious decline. At the same time, the Chinese communists have also evolved and remain communist in name only, having co-opted its former ideological enemy, free market capitalism, as its principal economic tool, while implementing technocratic meritocracy to get great things done. The pendulum of history has swung and we in the West have now become the bad guys, fooling ourselves that we are still on the right side of it. But the opposite is now true and we will pay dearly for the incredible ignorance and narcissism of our corrupt politicians.
