This is Xinjiang without all the problems. You could do this for literally any place on earth. How many videos exist of Australian outback nature and mountains, without including the oil and fracking sites, mining operations, and ecological damage those do. I am a minority ethnic Chinese of Tujia, I also have some friends from XingJiang, in fact my godfather is a Xingjiang resident, but we just live in a same life as the Han Chinese, the 56 ethnic groups is just a special characteristic about china, but doesn’t really make any difference in our daily life. As a Chinese, Xinjiang and Tibet are the places I most want to visit. I visited Tibet in 2019, Xinjiang is my next destination. We have a saying, "Before visiting Xinjiang, you don't know how big China is", "Before visiting Xinjiang, you don't know how beautiful China is".
For those who don’t know, Xinjiang is in a different time zone from Beijing but still standardizes on Beijing time, so there’s a 2 hour delay of everything there. What I mean is, people get up around 8am, start working around 10, have lunch at 2pm and dinner 8pm. So, midnight is basically 10PM for the locals.

I mean, I've been living in California for about 4 years, and Now I live in Tokyo, *at 10 PM you don't expect any food place to still be open other than chain restaurants like McDonalds, dominos, yoshinoya. I miss enjoying proper 夜宵 back in China🥵

Here are some responses from foreign netizens who have never been to China, let alone Xinjiang Firstly, you must have never been to Xinjiang, let alone understood China. Your understanding is based on your worldview. Mosques in Xinjiang are open, but there are rest days every week. And some of the mosques you think of are actually shopping malls with the appearance of mosques. Secondly, can't you see the Uyghur characters on the shop signs all over the street? You can't see the halal food shops all over the street. Education in Xinjiang has been taught in both Mandarin and Uyghur languages since childhood. Finally, not all Uyghurs are followers of Islam, and even if they are believers, they are divided into conservatives and progressives. China has always been very open-minded towards religions such as Islam. As a country ruled by a communist party, if there is faith, it is materialism. The government does not support people's religious beliefs, but it does not oppose religion. The Chinese government believes that the source of religious extremism comes from poverty and backwardness in material life. People have poor material living standards and no hope in life. Only in this way can they pursue spiritual pursuits such as religion, which makes them more prone to extreme religious thoughts. Such people will not cherish life and are more likely to breed terrorism. Therefore, the solution is not to use violence to counter violence like the so-called "war on terror" in the West, such as killing a Hamas or Taliban like in Gaza and Afghanistan. In extreme living conditions, their loved ones and friends will become more Hamas and Taliban. To give the local people opportunities for development, to make them prosperous, and to satisfy their material needs, they will naturally cherish life, have hope, avoid extremism, and avoid resorting to violent means when encountering unsatisfactory situations. They will be open-minded, understanding, and tolerant of other ideas. Xinjiang was originally located inland, with extremely inconvenient transportation, few jobs, industries, and poor living conditions for the local people, making it a backward province in China. At the same time, the general level of scientific education among the people is low, and there is a large pursuit of learning Islam. This is why there have been many terrorist activities in Xinjiang in the past, as I explained above. However, in recent decades, the Chinese government has continuously strengthened education, and local people in Xinjiang attend schools not only through formal university training. Organizing people to participate in skills training, while attracting investment, setting up factories and enterprises, and introducing jobs to local people. Only with skills can one find a job, increase income, pursue material improvement, and people will pursue a more realistic life, and their thinking will not be extreme. But all of this, regardless of facts and without conducting on-site investigations, is referred to as "concentration camps" by Western media and governments, similar to the current situation in Gaza. Not even as much as these video bloggers do. There is a Chinese idiom called 'pointing a deer to a horse', just like how your Western media has been biased towards Israel and indifferent to the lives of the Palestinian people for more than 70 years. If it weren't for TIKTOK breaking the monopoly of public opinion, perhaps Israel would still be the 'Son of God' in your media. If it weren't for China's visa free policy, so many bloggers from the Western world would have the opportunity to travel to China and personally experience the real China. Perhaps in your eyes, we would just be a big North Korea or another Soviet Union. But there is an old saying in China that goes, 'Justice lies in the hearts of the people.' The Western world can control public opinion and smear other civilizations or countries through media hegemony, but the truth is, we, the people living on this land, know it ourselves! You regard yourself as God, and regardless of the history, geography, and civilization of other countries, you use your own values as a balance to judge them. Ultimately, it is still because the material civilization of the West is advanced and life is more prosperous compared to other countries. However, before the Renaissance, the West was barbaric and backward in the face of Chinese and Arab civilizations. With material civilization, there would be subsequent spiritual civilization and public opinion hegemony. The essence is the same, development is the ultimate principle! You in the West can open your eyes to the world and respect other countries and civilizations. We are willing to work together to build a community with a shared future for mankind and develop human civilization. But if you still have to live in your fixed cognition, there's no problem. China's history told all Chinese people 200 years ago what it means to be closed off and what it means to be "backward and beaten".

As a han Chinese, I admire the people in Xinjiang, people from minority or born and live in there can access to good University with lower school points than us, buy cheaper house etc. But we don't feel unfair, cause they do need the assistant. And another big difference is public school is better than the private, no matter your family is rich or not, all can study in the same school. Everyone can access to the top universities if you like studying. There is no the word discrimination here if you visit China, you can feel it at the time❤
Sometimes, the China's government goes too far to protect the ethnic minorities in Xinjiang.
