Hey Mariela. My name is Luis and I am an aspiring actor who would love to breakthrough in the ATL acting market after I graduate from college. I have taken acting classes back to back, updated my headshots, updating my reel, as well as links. How hard is it to be signed your agency and what do they look for ? Thank you

I am in texas but want to move here to excel. Of course since your agency is refferal, what can help to get signed by other great agencies in atlanta

Hey! sorry I just saw this! And sounds like you're doing everything right! I would just say take a class in atl to have an atl name in your resume (looks better to agencies so they know your training was legit) and just statart submitting to agencies! Good luck!

Hey! I'm currently trainign with Drama inc, which was the one recommended to me by the agency that rejected me due to my lack of training. They are awesome and affordable in my opinion. They are currently doing online classes, so you can do them from anywhere. If you're in ATL, I think they're going yo start doing in person classes soon.

This is SO dope. I have msg you on IG like a couple of years ago idk if you remember but since then I have lived in NYC and did an acting conservatory program with NYFA. I just graduated May 1st and I’m excited to get out there and find representation. I’m now back home in Illinois but I need to keep my feet moving. Do you have any suggestions?
@BusinessMarielaPerCal3 жыл бұрын
That's awesome! Glad to hear you went for trainingin NYC. Im not sure how the acting scene in Illinois, but I would def suggest to continue training-- could never have too much on your resume. A lot of classes are still onlline because of the pandemic, so you can even train with classes from Atlanta. Are you planning on moving to another city for acting?
@staceysterling30403 жыл бұрын
@@BusinessMarielaPerCal Yes!! ATL is on the list along side Austin, TX. I just had to come home to Illinois to see family but I’m putting together my reel and resume at the moment. I have an appointment with a professional photographer in Chicago, IL mid June to get my headshots squared away. I just want to network and find representation. That’s my goal this year. And of course train! I never wanna stop training.

Can you give tips on the cover letter you submitted to acting agency?
@BusinessMarielaPerCal3 жыл бұрын
The best advice I can give is just keep it short and bullet point reasons why you are a good actor and are ready to be represented (so literally brag about what you've done where you have trained). Keep it as short as possible because they see a lot of submissions everyday, so they dont have time!

@BusinessMarielaPerCal Жыл бұрын
As long as they are not asking you for ANY money upfront. Legit agencies don't do that. They most they do is ask you to get new headshots and recommend where he can take training, but the agency itself would never ask you for money that's going to them. Agencies get paid when the talent gets booked and they take a percentage. Hope that helps, be safe!

Hey! The agency I'm with now specifically only look at new talent through referrals (from acting coaches, etc), so I was referred by someone who has a professional connection with the agency. That was in January (when they turned me down) but then they reached back out months later on their. Most big agencies go by referral, but most agencies have a submissions portal on their website or your can email them as well. Hope that helps!

idk if it's my attention span or if there was a bit of unnecessary chatter, but i had to force myself thru this video to get to the meat, lol.. 1. headshot (theatrical - straight face, commercial - smiling) 2. resume (training, school plays, ...) 3. reel (clips of your appearance in anything.. student films, etc.) find SAG-franchised agencies & submit to them
