I love the weight the enemies have. I like the TMNT game but having enemies flying around everywhere constantly bouncing off the screen kinda made me feel like I was just mashing buttons at times. Sure, that’s what a beat em up is but I don’t wanna feel like I can just close my eyes and mash buttons. It’s hard to describe. Like it’d feel like complete chaos around me and what I did wasn’t that important whenever I played with more than 2 players.

Shredders revenge was brain dead button masher, it was alright but compared to other beat ‘em ups like fight n rage or final vendetta, you didn’t have many options of combos or strategies to tackles enemy hordes

I got a chance to play this game yesterday at the Portland Retro Gaming Expo. I'm actually excited for it! It's not perfect, but I'm always excited to see these kind of beat em ups with stuff I remember from back in the day. My son said it reminded him of Shredder's Revenge. I told him Toxic was a cartoon show too, he was like "Really?". Hopefully they will polish some more things up, but I'll still get it for nostalgia, and to have those "back in my day" convos with my kids.

C'mon there's like five or six games that feature a guy running with a knife. There's one in Streets of Rage 2, another one in Final Fight (other than Rolento), then one in Rival Turf, one in Sailor Moon, and one in Super Double Dragon.

I agree that the throwing animation looks strange, I assume it's intended. It doesn't really fit artistically. I'm going to play the demo. The gameplay looks fun and I have watched the Toxic Avenger movies. I never watched the cartoon. I'm not sure, if it was aired where I live.

I really love beatem ups but at this state they really need to innovate the beatem up, like put a creative fighter in let you select your own moves, fresh new graphics that are Sharp, not the same beatemups people's been playing since the beginning. That's just me.

The game is based on a short-lived cartoon from 1991, which was a more kid-friendly version of the 1984 Toxic Avenger movie. They even got the same voice actors to reprise their roles.
