Essentially you have hedged your losses with covered calls and averaging down with CSP. Simple strategies like these already ahead of 90% of investors who simply trade stocks and think options are risky. well done.

I think wheel strategy is undeniably a simpler and effective options strategy that has made many people rich. However, I feel it's worth to note that Kelvin is 'lucky' enough to have accumulated TSLA shares at lower price in 2020 that he has enough shares to do CC and CSP. More so after the 1:3 split. Combined that with TSLA's high options premium because of high IV, he has limited downside. If a person is just starting out, he prob need to sell naked call and naked put, which have higher risks of ending in disasters. I think Kelvin's other stocks wheeling is not as juicy as his TSLA's wheeling. Just my opinion.

Kelvin, as long as you don't sell, it is only a paper loss. Everyday stock prices move up and down. If you are investing Tesla for 5 to 10 yrs time period, there is nothing to worry but to save cash to buy more on big dips. I don't buy Tesla when it was $250. But when it came down, below $200, that is the time to buy and do cost averaging taking into account not to expense off your cash reserves too quickly. Always keep some cash for rainy days....That is what Ark Investments did.

He is using covered calls and cash secured put strategy. These are good strategies that even Warren Buffet uses. Very important - make sure you understand these strategies well because if you do it wrong, it means that you are doing something else and if you don't know what you are doing you can end up in trouble.

30-45 days, that's where the extrinsic value starts dropping quickly. If weekly, there's nothing left to decay, and it's hard to roll if the stock moves suddenly

If you still believe in those businesses, you should be DCA into them. Don't panic and change strategy midway. Price is not Value. Share price dropping is a gd thing because it means you get to buy into them at an even cheaper price. That is if you still believe in those businesses. Dont change strategy because you are panicking. Only change strategy if you really believe it is a better strategy.

Don't smoke us with your options realized PnL la. Under IBKR, realized PnL will always be positive for the short option if it's assigned or expires, because the cost to close upon expiry is always calculated as zero IBKR. You need to combine it with the equities PnL and include unrealised PnL for the full picture. Total PnL = -4K + 124K - 170K - 25K = -75K USD. Simi offset bro??! 😂😂

You should not invest in broad based ETF now. The market is low, you should be aggressive and buy into good companies. People buy into ETF only when the market is high. And The main problem is your analysis of a good company. Honestly, you need to read a lot more annual report and determine how to see which company is good. Outside of tech, you have healthcare, FnB, consumer staples, consumer discretionary, utilities. Read more then invest. And lastly, build a circle of friends with different opinions. The group you hang out with (maybe just on KZbin) seems to be thinking the same way and doing the same thing. It creates an echo chamber.

Whilst hedging the downside with LONG PUTS u get to earn a bigger upside (relative to the premium u collected on the sell call). So if you have sold call, can u confirm that never once u bought put options on your own or family accounts.

Actually every correction and rally, I always see everyone talking about lessons learnt etc. But I can tell u 90% of ppl learnt nothing. I say that because I’m pretty sure the next rally ppl will miss again and again and will still get hit by the next correction again and again. If your lesson learnt is thinking ur judgement improved, then that’s the totally wrong direction. What u should be focusing on is come out with some execution principles to remove the judgement and emotions. Many years ago, I took a piece of paper wrote down 5 rules on cut loss, profit taking, deploying of capital, etc and sticking to it regardless of my sentiment.

This week I bought into HUT8 for crypto exposure. This company is conservative. They holding about 9k BTC and all are self mined, unlike MARA who bought them. They also diversify into data centers, have clean gas deal with Validus, cash more than debts. The only negative I see is shares dilution, when they require cash to increase their hash rate, they often use offerings. Any thoughts?

There are still lots of other sectors with lower valuation during your entry like the housing & manufacturing sector, but no one dares to touch them. Just give them another 3-5 years for their EPS to match the PE that you bought loh. No choice.

Very sad looking at those loses. At this stage it's important to have at least 30%-40% in cash. When stocks drop, it's no use if you don't have bullets to shoot, good thing is your options is generating cash. Try diversify to other types of etf that's provides hedging, e.g. gold etf and bond etf which will perform well if recession hits. Also try not to be in all tech stocks, you can see from past month Dow up nicely while Nasdaq struggles. Good luck and please don't put all your dream on Elon.

While I appreciate your honesty and transparency, I m a bit disappointed that you stopped upgrading your knowledge for bearish market probably you dint had time as you have tk make videos. Had you revised the portfolio for 2022 inflation and 2023 recession Tesla would not figure out there. Also wonder how you can allocate 83% to one stock. Rule no 1 nvr allocate more than 7% to any single stock. Hope you reduce your exposure to big cap ones till Q1 earnings. Probably you need to try shorting for Q1. My portfolio sits on 6% profit as of now. 10 days back it was on 15% profit. I m confident I will end on atleast 8% profit for this year.

It's good to change your investment thesis every now and then, but I think by definition of not timing the market, it's wise to keep a world stock market ETF and just stick to it. Your returns are lower but its better than losing money. You can't underperform the market if you are buying THE MARKET. I'm also glad to see the meme era over and the market is back to normality with less money shushing around. This is the time to see what companies has the fundamentals to survive and what companies will collapse.
