Insane. I don't think it's possible to grasp a sub 3min/km pace until you've tried to run it for any amount of time. I'd be lucky to hold that pace for 400m on a good day. Incredible stuff.
@alansamuel245413 күн бұрын
I've kept that pace for an 800m once. Maybe I could somehow have hung on to it till 1km. Nothing more than that though. I've done 11:10 in the 3000m which felt like death. Can't imagine doing it more than 2 mins faster and then hanging on for another 2km.

Love these videos Nick, they are the best running content on YT. Congratulations for not hitting anyone on the way to the finish line, I'd be frustrated for sure with such unpredictable traffic! Love that you give the 5K and 10K the love they deserve. I admit, I am put off with the "trendiness" of running marathons nowadays (which I see as a massive overkill for the vast majority of people). Speed is more exciting. As if Le Mans 24hrs was ever more popular than F1!

Don't worry about nasal breathing. The great coach Steve Magness has a video on his YT channel that explains why it's irrelevant for performance improvement whether you breathe through the nose or your mouth. I personally breathe with the nose for easy runs up to light tempo. The advantage for me is that I don't get a sore throat in winter with the cold air, and I know I'm in control as long as I can breathe with the nose, so that gives a psychological help.
