There's a psychology that goes to this decision, Morally it's probably incorrect but I doubt morals matter if it requires sacrificing someone's happiness. Most people wouldn't want to be with a person that has children and if it's none of their business in any way then there's no reason for them to know unless it directly impacts their relationship. Honesty is good and all but when you realize how much it would sacrifice honesty/transparency isn't always the right answer.

As a Father who is divorced and has full custody of my kids, I don't think it's appropriate to hide the fact that you have kids. I agree with your perspective. I am blessed to have found someone who accepts me AND my kids, but she knew about my kids well before we had an interest in each other. Great job steering clear and spreading the word!
