Someone did this to me once and I went to the server, paid my portion of the bill (with a huge tip for the inconvenience of him being sat there figuring out how to pay) and left him there. He messaged me later, angrily telling me that he had to sit there and wait an hour for a friend to come and pay his bill. Asked him how he thought that was any of my business and never spoke to him again. 🙄 He tried it.

From a guy's perspective: she dodged a MAJOR bullet. him "forgetting" his wallet was already a big red flag, but him following her home and trying to touch her was straight stalker activity (this is where pepper spray might come in handy). in my admittedly limited dating experience, i almost always split the bill on dates. but on the few occasions where i did pay for the date, i never asked for the money back (even after getting ghosted). that makes you look broke AND petty. especially the fact that he paid her back and THEN asked for half back. i've never seen anything like that in my life LMAO

I'm old and probably old-fashioned. However, speaking generally, men are losing their ability to respect women. Your story supports my theory. He seems to be playing the system, looking for a physical event rather than a lasting relationship. There's no respect in that. He's not thinking about your personality or interests or whether or not your like tiramisu. Looking for intimacy before the relationship is backwards. The intimacy will never last if the relationship hasn't been developed first. I have actually worried that you might be lonely. Take care of yourself. So many KZbinrs get successful, and then their lives get messed up. Save your money, develop a career outside of KZbin, give to a worthy cause. I'm happy for you, that you've had so much success. Your personality is so fun, and your humor so unique. You have inside of you what is needed to succeed at anything you choose. As far as relationships go, may I suggest getting involved in some group like you ice skating group. You'll find friendships within the group. You'll be more likely to find a relationship within the group of friends than online. For example, I went to a college where I knew no one. However, I joined the college marching band (nerd alert!) and I had an instant circle of friends. I eventually married one of those friends. And 37 years later, we're still in love. As I said, I'm old, and the dating landscape is totally different nowadays. However, building relationships hasn't changed that much. We are all still humans looking for someone to share our lives with, just as you said. Good luck and God bless!

well, women will hardly ever initiate so 90% of the time it's going to be a guy. IMO, in 2020, either party should offer to split or pay without offense being taken by either party. Unfortunately, some women do this all the time. I've seen it happen, I've heard of it, and dare I say it, it's happened to me and almost every guy I know. A woman will get a sudden urge or need to eat out then conveniently develop an overwhelming interest to go to dinner with a guy then afterwards, they hardly know your name.

Secondly have very defined rules for the first two to three meetings (not dates). Make it clear you will not be excepting any kind of offerings that put you in a position of having to repay the creep. HE suggested that we go to this Italian place he always wanted to try.... this dude was ordering double patron shots and everything, I was under the impression that he was treating ME for once.... the bill came and it was like $200... it sat at the table FOREVER.... til he said he forgot his wallet in his car. I was like "um ok...." kinda gave him the "well go get it vibe" the bill sat there for a long time again until he finally got up to go get it. I don't think he even left a tip. She ask if I ate today and said no I actually didn't and offer to buy me dinner. I was a lil shock but also I showed I appreciated the jester. We where in a relationship for 3 years. Girl I'll be asking him if he has his money and have him to check in front of me before going into restaurants. Or as soon as he said he was hungry I would have said I don't have money to buy anything but I'll set with you. Notice how he kept trying to get you to eat or drink. That was so you owed money on the bill and would feel responsible and pay some or all if something happens, like he forgot his wallet.

Eww that guy was a gold digger. From now on Kelly, when on bumble look at the men’s profile carefully! Look for a job title! Once on the phone, ask for their first and last name and google them to fact check before meeting them. Also when you go on a date, give his info to your friends for safety purposes. Please stop meeting up with these men right away. Make him wait a week and text/FaceTime to get to know him better.

This is why I only date within social circles. Uni, clubs, church, you name it. If I don't know someone who knows you then I can't vet you. And if I can't vet you then it's not happening my guy. No number, no social media, no dates. Nada. I also personally believe that first dates should be super casual. Go places where they expect you to pay first; food trucks, ice cream parlors, cake shops etc. Go to an arcade, urban art galleries, take a walk etc.
