Dear Creative Assembly. Outstanding work! I'm not ashamed to say that, as the credits started to roll, even with three hundred people watching, I just broke down and cried. Just overwhelmed with relief that the ordeal was finally over. You've understood what made Alien so terrifying. And you've created a world so rich in detail and so faithful to the source material, that it was a pleasure to experience. That was one hell of an emotional roller coaster. Thank you!

I don't know, H20Delirious' reactions seemed genuine. I think the reaction lies in the individual. Markiplier, Jacksepticeye and H20 (as examples) play horror games regularly. After a while, they became numb to atmospheric fear and only responded to jump scares. Where as Soviet, who doesn't play horror games and is not good with horror games, is constantly on edge and scared as he becomes fully immersed in the story. That's why his jump scares stay with him even after the event is over. It's like comparing a horror movie fan to a horror movie avoider. The Fan is going to critique the scares and be impressed when they make them jump. Where as the avoider is screaming and covering their face in the movie. Jack, Mark, Delirious are Fans. Soviet is an avoider. (I hope my analogy makes sense.)

This series is a testament to the quality of Creative Assembly's exceptional work. This game is simply amazing, it really captured not only the mood and feel of the Alien universe, but also the Alien itself. And it's a game BASED ON A MOVIE, which makes it all the more impressive, since usually licensed games are a fookin' disgrace. Otherwise risk-taking will not happen so often, and instead PC gaming will constantly get "safe" Call of Duty clone bullshit year after year, because publishers and developers both fear innovation.

When the alien popped out of the door at the last confrontation and closed in on him, I had a terrible idea: what if Ripley had hallucinated Verlaine as the alien, and had hesitated to kill her because Verlaine attempted to calm her down, before blowing both of them into space... I think a better ending would be: when Ripely was stuck in the nest, a chest burster was planted in her and she only found out when she was on Verlaine's ship, continuing the cycle.
@SpiceBalls8 жыл бұрын
A lot of people think that is what was planned to happen by the devs, but ultimately scrapped towards the end of game development, backed up by how the alien at 10:32 didn't attack, and the like.
@longschlongjohnson64708 жыл бұрын
+Alex Ringer No, Ripley was impregnated. The aliens didn't attack her earlier, after taking a moment to "smell" her. But when do they attack her? When she's on the station releasing the manual locks, or just entering Verlaine's ship. Both times, she was wearing something that would have sealed her smell away- the EVA suit. That's why the alien took so long to attack at the end. It wasn't sure.

But damn, how much you got into the game, the character and her fear was beyond everything. I mean, it was probably because of actual fear but you really felt for everything and that was great. In my own opinion, what makes this game so amazing is the fact it doesn't rely solely on jump scares- more than anything it's psychological. Every noise you hear, or every blip you see on your motion tracker has you wondering if it's the alien. It plays on your fear of the unseen and when you've got the alien in your sights it makes you wonder "can it see me too?" When you encounter other survivors you're asking yourself, are they hostile. And the thing that sets this game apart from almost any other survival horror is the aliens ability to adapt, and the fact it's unscripted. Every encounter with it, it's analyzing your moves. If you throw a noise maker, and run away, a future encounter it will learn to ignore them and follow you. If you hide in lockers like I do it will learn to open them. And the ending, while being semi anti climactic, is perfect because it forces you to really think and weigh the options of what could have happened, is she alive, dead, did the alien infect her. Anyway that's all I've got for now
