My brother got saved while doing a 10 year prison bid another man who was also a prisoner but from Trinidad who got saved through Brother Peter Ruckmans prison minostry showed my brother from a King James Bible how simple it is to recieve the GIFT of salvation. My brother believed and he was saved. He began to write home call home and plead with us to trust Jesus. We were a Catholic family we did not think he was sane. I was in my own world ...trying to fill a void with drugs and bodies but all i did was lose everything and everyone that meant anything to me. I was in and out of Rehab jail detox but notbing helped notjing worked because the problem was not mental or physical but Spiritual in nature. I finally came off the streets and got onto a maintenance drug while I wasn't clean as they would say because I was abusing that maintenance drug and let's be honest if you're using a maintenance drug you're on a drug so how can you really be clean anyhow I was at least stable enough and coherent enough to listen to my brother when he would call and he started to share some things with me about the word of God that intrigued me while talking with him I sensed piece that I did in anyone else around me I was envious of that peace I wanted it so bad here was a man in prison with such great peace and a great sense of Freedom that exuded from him while living Behind Bars and here am I able to move and go and come freely yet I have no peace and I feel like a prisoner. My brother slipped the gospel into every conversation but it did not make any sense to me I could not understand it that veil was still over my eyes I would pray daily begging God please save me but I did not understand still that I needed spiritual salvation and one day my eyes were opened everything I had learned as a child in the Catholic church God used that day to show me what my brother had been talking about I saw that cross I saw Jesus being brutally scourged and beaten spit on mocked the beard plucked off of his face I saw him carrying that cross I saw him nailed to that cross all in my mind's eye I saw him die there on that cross and I thought he didn't just do this as an example but he did this out of love he took my place on that cross all of the sudden the knowledge that I had in my head was connected to my heart and I realized and I believed that was out that death burial and Resurrection I would never see the kingdom of God Jesus died in my place and he paid my debt for me and then in there I asked Jesus Christ to save my soul from hell. Later when I told my brother that I had gotten saved I asked him now that I'm saved what is stopping God from just killing me and taking me out of this world newly saved I still had a bit of depression due to the mess that I had made of my life and my brother said well if God had killed me right after I had gotten saved who would have told you how to be saved That rhetorical question changed my life forever. I began to see that my life was no longer my own and that I was still here to be used of God if I would allow him to use me knowing and understanding so clearly what he had done for me I didn't want it to be any other way this decision forced me to trust God I knew that if he had the power to save my soul from hell he most certainly has the power to deliver me from the bonds of sin and glory be to his holy and precious name Jesus Christ he delivered me and gave me victory over my addictions Soul winning has changed me in so many ways the power of the Holy Spirit within me working all these things out for his glory and honour! Ive been troubled before I was saved on June 30th 2007 and let me tell you, Ive never went back! I've been saved in a small church in town. on a saturday evening. I was sitting in the back of the chruch and a young lady came up to me and asked me if I was lost. I said "Yes, ma'am" she then proceeded to take me to the altar where in about 20-25 minutes, I rose up and told the preacher there that I was saved. He asked me how I was saved. I told him "BECAUSE I CAN FEEL IT!" I felt His power that night! I still to this day think that it was my grandmother (May she R.I.P) that night.

From my experience it was the Holy Ghost working on your soul. Jesus was working on your heart and Father God that with all three, the Trinity that made it happen and your free will which is choice.
