I would really like a final Deus Ex game to wrap up any loose plot threads. I also enjoyed Human Revolution and even Mankind Divided. However, after the breach mode (aka. microtransactions) i'd rather have no new game instead of a bad one.

Tbh I'm glad. I'd rather let Deus Ex rest in it's grave at this point. I don't think that Eidos has been moving in the right direction for a long time now - with each release being a bigger and bigger disappointment. Every game, they lean more into tired, run of the mill, AAA action shooter gimmicks, and away from the immersive sim elements of the original. At the end of the day, I think Deus Ex at its core was always meant to be a niche cult classic - which will always be fundamentally contradictory to the incentives of capitalists, who must "appeal to wider audiences." Nobody at any of those big studios has the spine or the creative inspiration anymore to do what they did with the original Deus Ex - to take a big risk.

If this was a sequel to MD I could not care less. HR and MD was so far away from original game in terms of lore, themes, story building and style, so they can just create a new title without boundaries of wannabe cyberpunk style, go full yellow gold cringe, and everybody will cheer for it. The story of Adam Jensen was a Hollywood junk anyway. And almost with no memes, which says a lot.
