On a farm, even when the machinery is doing what it is designed to do, I always say that I will work till it breaks down. It's not a matter of if but of when the equipment breaks down.

If todays youth expect farming to be 'clean', just because many tractors have cabs with AC, they are in for a very rude awakening. Dirt in your beard is the sign of a good day on the farm. May you have many more Josh. Love what you do brother and thank you for all the helpful tips and tricks you share. Stay hydrated my friend.

Thanks for the great contet as always . We bought 133 acres in Middle TN and I'll be looking to convert most of the it to Hay Fields . I enjoyed watching you convert wooded land to future lawn / pasture . Maybe a future episode on the 5 or 6 basic machines you would focus on getting to prep your Homestead . Thanks as always for the great content and insight .

Looking great on the cleanup!! I don't think this rock picker is a bad idea, and it has its place. I think this one needs a few more adjustments/changes and testing to make it work a bit better. As it operates right now, it's does not look like its saving any steps. It might be causing an extra step. One change that might make it a bit more reliable is a shaft driven system. I think the chain driven system on one side is a failure/breakdown point. If one rock or piece of debris slightly "twists" the swing arm, I think the swing arm gear may be twisting just enough to throw the chain. Also, with a shaft driven swing arm, there is another opportunity to add a feature that will enhance its picking operation. I'm not going to say what here..... 🚜-Woooo!!

Wow, What another great learning video. Thank GOD we have people like Josh to take time out of their way to show us how thing are done. Not just done, but done the right way. My friends, if you like this kind of content, then may I suggest what I did. I started watching from the 1st video to date buy watching 3-4 episodes a day and within a month, I was caught up. Plus the good news is he designates each day as a theme (Tuesday is Tool day where he demonstrates new tools or equipment). Josh also brings "Lives" about once every week or 2. Another reason is when you subscribe you get notifications off new content and live streaming. So go ahead and push that LIKE (thumb up)👍button. Did I mention it is all FREE and Josh is about to launch his cattle meat on Patron. Sign up and get notices when there are new items and sales. I have been watching him for 6 years now and have enjoyed every episodes.

You need a set of grizzly bars. Dump the mix on top and the bars allow the small stuff and dirt to drop thru, but the larger stuff slides off the bars to the back. It’s kinda like a classifier. But then again, you’re probably not big enough to justify them.

I like the rake with the guide wheels so it doesn’t dig in. Lawn? On a farm, isn’t that more to maintain and doesn’t generate revenue?
@StoneyRidgeFarmer
@StoneyRidgeFarmer 7 күн бұрын
everything gets maintained on the farm, whether pasture or lawn or garden. It takes work to keep this place up all the time and you want your farm to be a beautiful parklike setting my friend. Common areas have to be mowed and maintained. Probably take about 10 hours a year to mow this once it's good to go...plus we can run the pastured chickens on it too!
