The brighter blonde looks so good on you. I think you can wear brighter, less neutral blushes & lip colors with brighter hair. Should look gorgeous.

I’m not sure what you don’t like! Your makeup looks so nice! I’ve been in a makeup rut when I’ve changed hair colors. Try a different lip color - I’ve found that makes the difference. Also, try wearing a color shirt that you KNOW you look great in. For me, I’m a “spring” so if I’m feeling crappy, I gotta go get that pastel colored shirt. Finally, my makeup always looks better when my skin care is ON POINT and my skin is looking good. Are u happy with the skin at the moment? Sometimes that can be it!

I had my hair pale blond for years then went back to my natural silver hair color during the pandemic which complements my cool toned skin. But I suddenly found anything warm tone to look strange on me. I had to change my choice of colors for sure.

Idea for a future shop my stash video: since you have a lot of singles and a lot of Natasha Denona palettes, you could curate some of your own palettes to focus on for a few weeks. It would be fun to watch, and you'd probably be able to pick out the shades you want in a wider variety of textures (so if you're wanting bronzey shades, you could pick some that are satins, some that are really metallic, some that are a more traditional shimmer formula, and some that are more sparkly).

@Caitlin Howard - YAS!!! I totally agree with you. Do you watch Hannah Louise Poston? She, like ❤️LMB❤️, has a good variety of singles and part of that is due to your exact suggestion! She depots all her ND shades from the palettes she owns and uses them to curate such cool custom palettes (she combines them with the best indie brand singles too and LMB is on top of that game too), so again - YAAASSS!!!! ☺️

I have the worst time with foundation and concealer. I've spent so much money on both and I always hate how they look on me, not even getting into finding one that will last through a sweaty summer day. I've even gotten help from someone at Sephora, and I still hated it. I've pretty much given up on foundation and concealer. Also, you are a master of pops of color. Never doubt it.

I think your make up is stunning! And it's so true that we are our own most harsh critics! I change my hair colour frequently and due to over bleaching it's currently a lot shorter than I prefer it, so I totally get where you are coming from. The thing I struggle with is my brows when i go a different hair colour. Sometimes when I'm blond I have to use a more ashy, cool toned brow products or it throws the whole look off. When I'm a red head I have to go warmer. I'm currently brunette ( haven't changed my profile pic yet) and I hate it. Being more natural makes me feel more self conscious about wearing bright coloured eye makeup! ( which is silly I know). Guess it's just a case of trying until you find your groove again.

I find that my skin goes weird when the seasons change. I have to switch up the foundation I’m using in the summer vs winter. Also, my skin sometimes agrees with powder and sometimes it hates powder. Idk why or what triggers it exactly, but right now it’s agreeing with powder. 🤷🏻‍♀️

THIS RIGHT HERE!! I thought is was just us high desert gals & guys! 🌵 Can you say dry....it's dry all year around here but the winter is brutal cold with little moisture & the summer is staggering heat with almost no moisture. The switch does a number on my skin and no amount of make up fixes it. Also, time is a factor....each passing year changes our skin. I know we don't like to hear it but time marches on and it's marching all over our face. 🤣

I was getting on here to say the exact same thing! I feel like every few months, my makeup looks awful for a week or so until I figure out what is going on with my skin and seasonal changes. I think it has something to do with skin texture, but I also think it’s skin tone-when I start getting paler in the winter, or a hint of color as I’m outside more in the spring and summer, it’s hard to figure out what shades work on me because suddenly things just look weird. It usually just takes a week or two for me to settle in, but until then, I find just giving myself time to play, and adding colors that will change the temperature of a look (sheer products that will warm it up a little, or cool it down a little) helps a lot. I keep a couple of liquid blushes that are too sheer on their own on my vanity-one a pale warm peach and one a cool pale mauve-just for this purpose, and it works perfectly to adjust a look just enough that it works when my skin is being weird. I do this with eyeshadow too. It was a Kackie Loves Beauty thing and it is a game changer.

I’ve definitely had a hard time with feeling like my skin/hair/wardrobe are looking like together when I’ve dyed my hair. I’ve had black, sandy blonde, pink, neon pink, gray, platinum, brunette, and my natural medium brown hair. People say it doesn’t make a difference, but it does! I feel like instead of trying to make work what I used before the hair change, playing with blushes/shadows/lips that maybe didn’t work on me before helped me find more cohesion AND use things from my collection that weren’t getting so much use before! (I haven’t finished the video so sorry if that’s basically what you did and I’m redundant over here 🤣)

Yes to the summer palette video. Not sure you’re aware that Tarte has a new baked glowy bronzer-it’s a great deal on qvc now:$29 for the bronzer and a brush. Would love to hear your thoughts on it. I can so relate to the makeup hate. Seems like everyday I have to redo my makeup as I’m disliking it so much, even things I typically love. No idea what the heck is up but the struggle is real. 💜💜💜💜

❤ Omg, I know exactly how you are feeling, Lauren... First of all, you look beautiful but I get exactly what you mean when you don't feel happy with your looks. I started dying my hair a little while ago (last summer) because of the greys 😂 and I swear, it almost felt like I had totally lost my passion for makeup at first... Either my hair would come out too brassy (didn't know how to tone it properly at first), or too dark, or too light... And everything felt "foreign" to me... As if none of my clothes looked good all of a sudden and my face felt like it wasn't even mine anymore... It takes a while to adjust to these kinds of changes... Don't let it drive you crazy... You just need to give it time until you find what works and what doesn't but it's totally achievable!!! ❤❤❤

I love love love the eye shadow! Honestly I love the look overall, but I totally get the weird feeling that comes after changing up the hair. I naturally have warmer toned brown hair and I found that when went darker and cooler my brow color had to become cooler in order for everything to look right (to me at least, everyone around me didn't notice or care 😄). Once I changed that I felt so much better about my makeup overall, it's weird how one little thing can make all the difference!

I think your makeup looks lovely, but if I might suggest, I think you should try punching up the color of your blush. A pop of brighter pink or peach on top of your neutral blush would be beautiful, & brightening. You don't have the pink hair as contrast, so all of the neutrals are just blending together & washing you out a bit. It always takes me a good week or 2 to figure out how to work w/a new haircut &/or color...

I don't change my hair colour but I definitely do go through phases with my makeup where I'm not happy with it. Sometimes it's because one product isn't sitting right and I have to work out what it is, other times I think maybe I'm just feeling down so in those times I just do one shadow shimmer looks on my eyelid until I'm feeling it again. Shimmery colours always make me feel a bit better.

OMG, of all the things to comment about ... that tall amber-colored vase on the back of the Ikea drawers. My parents had one of those, with other matching pieces, back in the late '60s/early '70s! It momentarily catapulted me back to childhood. I'm still so tempted by the Geodes palette!

When I was young, my haircolor changed throughout the year depending on sun exposure. My natural color is med to dark blonde & it has a lot of golden red undertones. Most people with this haircolor end up highlighting it or changing it in some way because it feels boring or mousy. I color it now to cover grey & get highlights about every 2 color visits. Anyway, yes. I've had lighter, darker, & redder hair in the past & had to adjust my makeup. Now that my eyes & hair are greying, & I avoid sun exposure I've had to adjust it again. I feel more comfortable in softer, desaturated colors that lean neutral-warm. I used to favor warm, rich Fall colors & black when my hair was darker & redder. When you change your haircolor, you probably need to adjust your makeup & color palette just like you would when you self tan. Don't get me started on finding a good brow color shade match.I thank the makeup gawds daily for Taupe brow pencils/gels.

Yes, to all the questions - we want to see it. I like it too when you show the videos you're not so sure about. Because it helps to see where you think you went wrong and then explain what you would've done differently. Most of us are always learning from videos, so seeing "fails" can also be a teachable moment. But only if you're comfortable with it. (I hope this makes sense). Have a nice day 😁 when my makeup routine doesn't work for some reason and I'm not satisfied, that often means I need to change something up in it. For example - I love someky colorful elaborate looks and soft blush, but lately I'm more into simpler but not as colorful looks with more emphasis on the blush. Also, I love that you're into the Hatice Schmidt products.

I know this is unrelated to this particular video, but I know you’ve been especially into fragrance lately and I wanted to make sure you knew what was going down! I’m the commenter that works at Bath and Body Works and they moved Semi Annual Sale to starting tomorrow (6/11) instead of Monday! Not only that, but I believe Fireside Flurries will back back for the sale and I think it’ll be 75% off!!!!! So I had to come on and tell you because I knew you loved that one (and for anyone else who wanted to get their hands on it)! 💜 A few other things I know are going to be 75% off (at least in-store, and based off what my store has): Magnolia Charm, Fresh Getaway, White T-Shirt, Fresh Coconut and Cotton, Pastel Skies; the Xmas scents like Vanilla Bean Noel, Winter Candy Apple, A Thousand Christmas Wishes, and Frosted Coconut Snowball; the sprays for A Thousand Wishes (they’re changing the packaging slightly), and I’ll add more if I remember/find out!

I am currently in one of those ruts where I don't like how my makeup looks so I really don't wanna go all out with it. Especially with lip products. I've bought a bunch of new lipsticks lately and I love them. However, whenever I use them I'm never happy with how my lips look. I wanna blame it on a the fact I've had a bunch of breakouts lately and treating them has really dried out my skin as a whole. But honestly I was having this issue for weeks before hand so. For me I know it's only a matter of time till the interest comes back around. Just a matter of waiting out the bad feels

There is definitely an adaptation time when you change hair color. I also noticed for myself that when I am not happy with my skin I tend to be extra critical of my makeup. When I experimented a lot with my hair color, I noticed that platinum blonde really pulled out the redness out of my complexion (and I am prone to redness). I preferred my face with a darker and warmer blonde (like venetian blonde, or strawberry) or a bold deep red color (fire red or cherry red). It really makes the face appear leaner and pulls the blue and green tone out of the skin, making it look much more fresh and radiant even without makeup. I don't know if you like these colors but you could give it a try. When you like your complexion without makeup you are more prone to have a good makeup day ^^ I also agree with someone down in the comments that mentioned the eyebrow color. I would say to match it to your roots (that's how I did it). Your roots seems to be ash-blond, so maybe you could give a try to a cooler tone? PS: that blush and highlighter drawers are 'chefkiss'! PPS: your makeup is still super gorgeous in all your videos, if you wouldn't have told us, I would have never known that you were struggling with those insecurities :/ I know what it is and it is no fun... but it generally tend to pass after some time, so try to not be too hard on yourself in the meantime, you're gorgeous, with makeup and no-makeup

I've had all kinds of hair color and my impression is that the temperature between eyebrows and hair needs to match to avoid that uncanny valley effect that I think you're experiencing. I really liked this video, especially the makeup you selected for the next little while. I’ve drastically changed my hair color several times, and the makeup always needs to adjust right with it. I think it’s a combo of the visual elements (warmer/cooler or darker/lighter?) and the essential vibe of the color and cut. This shorter, blonder look might call for a different makeup vibe. I really enjoy the process of discovery when I’ve made a big change.

First of all, your makeup is always perfect & lovely, you have great skill. Maybe you just have to find someone's color vibe to emulate, to get a start after your new/old haircolor. When I was blond (paler even than you, sort of buttermilk) I was going for a Tilda Swinton in Only Lovers Left Alive tone in my overall look; for you it will be some other feeling. I look forward to changing up my makeup after a haircolor shift, and I've had every color. I plan it! There are some lipcolors i can only wear when I'm a redhead, for instance. Re: powder-- always reliable & invisible: Tarte Smooth Operator. Similar but I like it better for under my eyes, KVD Lock-It. Also loving the Ciate Watermelon Burst powder compact; gives a really silky look to my skin. I like Yensa's powder too, but mostly for under my eyes, not my whole face. Pretty tray, BTW!

Hi, Lauren! Yes, I’ve experienced that when I’ve changed my hair color. I guess it took a bit of experimentation to find the colors that worked best with each hair color that I had (platinum blonde, cotton candy pink, hot pink, rose gold, and cool brown), but I remember that it sucked when I felt like wanting to wear shades that didn’t look good with my hair. You’ll find the shades and style that work best for you with this hair, you’ll see, but I gotta say, you look gorgeous in this makeup look!

I think the eye look you came up with is super gorg with your blonde hair. I go through ruts like this as well. I live in MN so sunlight changes are rough on me! I have Seasonal Affective Disorder so what that means is, I dont do well with shorter days & less sun. SO when spring & summer come back, I have a period of a couple of weeks until I adjust to the sun again. I feel kinda just blah. Like I know I should be happy & when it doesn’t happen right away, I get lost in how I feel. I am a light blonde so I know all to well that make up looks different when I change my hair color. What used to look good, now just sucks. I feel ya, girl!! It is tough- but I do get used to it. Just ride it out. But if it lasts- go to a Dr!!!! Hormones could be out of whack. Just check to be sure. I really think the look you create is so pretty. It looks differently in your eye cuz its a new face to get used to. I like the deeper lower lash line- makes your eyes pop more & the blue comes out more.

in the past year I've had pink hair, then warm blonde, then purple, lavender, then cool blonde. I've noticed I wanna pull out the neutrals when my hair is colourful and I wanna pull out the colours when my hair is neutral. it's about the balance for me!

Absolutely love Nikkia Joy’s loose powder. I’m super oily though (& so is Nikkia) so I’m unsure how it plays on dry or combo skin.

Your makeup looks great. Only thing I would tweak is the Laguna bronzer. It looks very yellow on you with brighter hair. Hope that helps. Also, I've never been able to use the Ginzing! without it pilling. I hate it.

I’m super dry and powder can look really weird on me real quick. My favs are Kosas Cloud Set/Mac Mineralize Skin Finish for a set but still glowy look and Sephora Collection Microsmooth if I’m going out or its really warm and I want a mattified look. They’re all pressed powders though, I haven’t seen you use any on your channel before so I’m not sure if you’d like them.

I’ve definitely been through this feeling before. It sucks to question yourself and feel lost but I find that ultimately at the end of this period, you learn more about yourself and grow overall. As for powder recommendations, I love the Fenty loose powder and the Too Faced Peach powder. Lately I’ve been applying my loose powder with a damp sponge and have been loving the results! Lastly, I absolutely love your channel and uploads so just know I’ll be here to watch everything you post. 😊

I think your makeup looks lovely! But when I shaved and bleached my hair I had a similar experience. With it shaved I felt like I needed to be wearing a bit more of a full glam moment, but I got used to that quickly. I then bleached it a few weeks later and I found that going heavier on the blush actually helped me out a lot! Good luck!

That Sigma color corrector is fantastic!!! I feel bad for you that you are not liking your makeup lately. I agree that it could be the change of your hair color. Could hormones be playing a role as well? Just know that I love your makeup & I have purchased a ton of makeup you recommended. There is a ton from your stash that I am off to go buy.

I think you look lovely, like modern Hollywood bombshell , but make it beachy! I do think that major changes in hair colour, length , style do give you a bit of time to adjust. I had to go from having very long thick full hair to bald and as that was drastic and not a choice, it took years to think wow I look nice.

Hi Lauren! For the record, I always love your looks and that includes this one! I wonder though if you're struggling partially because the looks aren't like your initial vision because your new hair color is changing the balance of what that looks like. Tried and true might actually be unreliable in this case if you're not, like, totally recognizable to yourself? It might be helpful to try something that feels less like a known outcome so you can surprise yourself 💙

First, adore you! Powder rec is the Nars light reflecting powder, it looks like you are wearing nothing. I have ultra dry skin and I still looks perfect on me. And girl, just fluff that aura! You are stunning! Sometimes when I am in a weird place with makeup I will throw on a shocking lip (I am a neutral girl) and then the next day its like magic my make up looks great and fab again lol

That was NOT a weird video! lol. I have definitely had the exact same weirdness happen with a change in hair color. Sometimes even just a bad skin month. It’s peaks and valleys woman. Hang in there! I think our inner diva always comes back around. Time! Definitely with time. ❤️❤️❤️

When I bleach my hair I find I gravitate toward more colorful eyeshadows (ie pastel blue or purple all over the lid) or a statement lip (not at the same time tho) something about the light hair begs for some drama on the face
