Looks like it might be ring butt, excessive piston temperature and/or too tight ring gap. Bit of a guess but I've seen a LS piston look like that from ring butting. You might be able to see evidence of it on other pistons rings where the ends of the rigs have touched. High IATs may cause this along with a hot engine. E85 would help if that's the case

Yeah so hot IAT is my current theory. Was about 65-70 degrees when the engine dropped a cylinder. I cant imagine it would have been that extreme on the dyno with the bonnet open & a fan going.
