Bruh it’s because they sold Smosh years ago to another company for 0 dollars ( they were paid in company stock which is worthless unless the company goes public which it never did) resulting in a total loss of control. This is why Anthony left Smosh because all they were doing were low effort vids instead of the homemade skits he enjoyed doing with his best friend. A tragedy.

I figured out Smosh's secret to such addictive skits, aside from the fact that both of these lead actors are quite funny & most skits are fairly funny, most of their skits are very unpredictable similar to Family Guy, you never know where the each skit is going to end up from the beginning of the show, & this unpredictability keeps us latched on to the show similar to how Family Guy does.
