Great stuff. Love the attention to bronze age history. The cultural interplay between the ancient Greeks and Egyptians is fascinating; they both learned a lot from each other. I'm sure I won't be the first to point this out but I think this army from the northern city of Alexandros would work really well as being led by an antecedent or sworn liege of Alcadizaar The Conqueror, a great enemy of Nagash in his undeath and very much a Philhellenic-style leader in life. He busted out of Nagash's prison and stabbed him with a dagger made of magic uranium given to him by a rat in a hooded cloak. Warhammer lore is extremely serious and sensible. =]

I started with Eureka miniatures "Heavily Armoured Qin Guard" as tomb guard. The spears are separate, so Im planning to make some dagger axes as halberds. Eureka got a lot of options, but as they are metal, they are a bit pricey. Therefore Im waiting for the warring states stuff from Wargames Atlantic to come out for other core stuff (spearmen and archers). They are currently winning for the poll for the next box preduced, so Im optimistic. Zenit Miniatures has some good stuff (again, pricey), but I picked up a Quiang Ziang (basically a war elephant) which will make a good warshinx. Finally found a "Chinese Rope Catapult" on noble knight games by RAFM for a screaming catapult. Isnt crewed, but plan to use some of those wargames atlantic plastics to convert into a crew.@@TyrGodOfWar42

tried posting this once and seemed to fail, so sorry if this double posts: Eureka Miniatures ancients has a lot of options, but pricey due to metal. I picked up the heavy armored guards as a tomb guard equivalent. Zenit miniatures has a good amount as well, though again pricey. I picked up the Quiang Ziang (War elephant) as a good warshynx for the army. I found a "Chinese Rope catapult" on noble knight miniatures from RAFM, plan to use as a screaming skull catapult. Doesnt have a crew but... I plan to fill out a lot of the core (spear men/archers) with Wargames Atlantic "Warring States Infantry". Not in production yet, but are top voted at this time as part of their Vox Populi system, so Im optimistic as it will be a lot more inexpensive to get the core filled out. Also use some of these to manage my catapult. Will also do some 3d prints for some of it. Temple dogs for ushabti, dragon statue for necrosphinx, maybe scale up a soldier for a bone giant. @@TyrGodOfWar42

I like the idea converting your skellies to include more variety. It feels a bit of a missed opportunity that you didn’t use more hopilite parts. You could have used a hoplite closed face helmet and a torso. Replacing the legs with those of a skellie and skellie arms would have done the job.
@Hatypus8 ай бұрын
These style of Tomb Kings could really easily be flavoured as perhaps something from what is now the Border Princes, in the days when Nehekhara held dominion over those lands. An army that fought honourably for the Nehekharans and were thus honoured with their own grand tombs. Perhaps resembling the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus and such things, more than pyramids...

Recently I have really become aware of how much of a history geek Duncan is, first with the Napoleonic Imperial Guard, then the detailed description of the rules of medieval heraldry in the Brettonean Knight build and now this one. You're the best Duncan, never change! Speaking of introducing historical influences in Warhammer, what would you suggest to give Space Marines a more Greek liok for Ultramarines? Could I modify the usual gothic arches out (i don't think Greeks used arches at all) to minimise the influence there? No clue.

It's really cool to see you mixing mini ranges. Wargames Atlantic has a Greek inspired skeleton kit that could work too. Any chance you would consider making a folk horror themed Imperial Guardsman?
@mandzakminiatures8 ай бұрын
I have always been more attracted to the 'adjacent' armies in the background of Warhammer than the normal ones. I have been working on my Araby stuff on and off for about a decade, switching systems after the world blew up to AoS once cities came out and waiting for newer kits to release that could be converted for the theme (all using GW product). Between that I have always like the Barrow Kings written by Matt Ward. Though I am not sure if they are the same as the Albion ones you speak of? I have been putting some stuff together for them, but hung on on whether I should make them more gothic wight kings or based on the description from the White Dwarf article (bronze age, unsure of armor style) which would require some more creativity with the available skeleton kits and other kits to create some of the more esoteric units they have. But I think the VC would be best to represent to range of diverse units they have.
