I just heard that we are going to have an eposode on how i knew we were going to be friends for a long time. Lemme tell yall about my bestie. When i learnt that i was pregnant, it wasnt planned and i was so scared. My man really wanted the baby, he was excited and ready. So when i told him that i was not sure if i wanted to keep the pregnancy, he was hurt but told me that he would support me in whatever decision i made but he kept on telling me that he really wanted the baby. When i told my bestie that i did not know what i wanted to do with the pregnancy, she was neutral,non judgemental, objective and really supportive until i made my decision 2 months later. I kept the pregnancy. She validated me, kept me sane, spoilt me, visited me and celebrated me through motherhood. She is a gift from God.

I knew the friendship was over when I postponed my visiting her baby to the day after, called her so many times the day I was to visit and even texted. I ended up assuming that she is so busy or tired and that I should just head over to her place since we were so close that and I mean it. So when I am almost at her place she calls back and she tells me that her husband (whom I know) will be angry at her the whole week for not informing him of my visit upfront. Well to make them happy I asked her to send her house manager to pick the things I had brought and I ended up not seeing her or the baby.

Heh! Yani you assumed she was either busy or tired and still saw the need to show up at a nursing mother's home without them confirming with you. Maybe she wasn't in a place to see anyone that day and maybe it's true that the husband gets angry when people visit out of the blues. You don't go to people's home without them confirming with you no matter who they are and who you are. If someone's not picking up your calls and returning texts when you're supposed to meet, Kaa nyumbani.

If you were keen to read you would have noticed that she called me back 30 minutes before I got there, and she said that I should come. She even kept asking me to come see her in the hospital and when she went home she told me to come home. The husband thing was just an excuse, we all know each other (the husbands inclusive). Let's just say you will not get it.

Being friends with emotionally unavailable persons will result in a one sided friendship ....doing all the heavy lifting while they make you feel you are clingy.....create healthy boundaries be secure in yourself before inflicting your trauma and insecurities on your friends .Most people are in trauma bonds not friendships.

As a person who wasnt posted on their bday and later broke up a friendship with someone who called me best friend, let me tell you. These are small building blocks to the demise of the rshp. She wd post other people, she would upload at least 2 posts foe other friends with beautiful words describing how great of a person they are. My bday comes and its crickets. NOOOOOOOO sweety !!!! I ddnt ened the frendship then though, like i said the these were just building blocks. It crashed and burned a yr later

I thought part 1 was incredible but part is wow! I see myself in all circumstances and lessons I have learnt along the way. Hey TMI.Just to emphasize on your tips on navigating adult friendships. 1. Reciprocate the energy. Don't expect 80% while you give 10%. 2. Give grace. Friends aren't perfect just like you ain't, forgive and also apologize. If the friendship means a lot, you're not just willing to throw it away for petty reasons. 3.Commit your friendships to God as they're starting and along the way. Oh, expect revelations. 4.Communicate, people can read the room not minds😅. 5. I rarely open up and am not about to change, I also don't expect my friends to share and I would be beyond ok with them cutting me off if it makes them uncomfortable. Truth be told am always told am a good listener but sometimes I feel like friends over share. The lady who was body shamed. What do y'all think about cutting off a good friend cause they have terrible friends? I have this great buddy of mine who always seems to be surrounded by weird vibes and based on where I hang out, I have to bump to him with these shady characters that mistreat waiters, talk down on women, hold extremely "unwoke" takes, pick unnecessary fights when drunk, and are genuinely annoying asf. I hate that energy around me but I have no reason to cut off my pal cause he is a decent guy

I sometimes feel like Lydia is invalidating,especially when it comes to other people's experiences which don't align with hers.. Sina ubaya but Lydia, people are different, and we can't all fit into the text book definition of how life is supposed to be as opposed to how life actually is hapa kwa ground.
