The part about peeling yourself off of the cheese grader was hilarious. Totally caught me off guard. Since I was already on the floor, the rolling and laughing came easily!😂😂😂😂

Hi TaWandrea! Thank you for watching - I'm so happy you got a laugh out of this 😅 Hahaha sometimes it's safest to just stay horizontal 😜 Hope you have a beautiful week, and thank you for leaving your comment! 🌸

So glad to see the Shakti mat getting some love! I have the neck pillow and though I don't use it as frequently as the mat (the high loft makes it too intense for me to use while lying on the floor), I'll put it behind my neck while I'm propped up in bed whenever I have neck pain -- it really helps to alleviate kinks, tightness and soreness. Also, a tip about the upper buttocks sensitivity when lying on the mat sans clothing: I've found that laying down a very thin scarf across the base of the mat before lying down on it (so that my shoulders are fully in contact with the spikes while my head is lying above the mat) really balances out the intensity, allowing me to get some needed lower back contact without putting too much pressure on those oversensitive nerves at the base of the spine 👍

Thank you for watching and sharing - good to e-meet a fellow Shakti adventurer! 😃 Your experience with the pillow is motivating me to get it now - that sounds amazing for the neck! Thanks for the tip for the lower back/mat use too - I will try that next time - I thought it was just me! haha. Hope you're keeping well, and have a great week, and wishing you continued good health! 😍

Hi Tori - I'm so happy you enjoyed the video! 😅Thank you for watching and leaving your kind comment. I was using the original mat, so the middle level (the other levels are 'light' and 'advanced'). Hope you get great use from it! 🥰

@@AussieGem my cat's claws would be worse than the mat! I'm just recovering from post long-haul flight Covid so could do with some remedies.

Yikes! 'Cat claw' is actually a great name for a mat. haha. Hope you get well soon! I wonder if any herbs might help? I've been testing different herbal teas for immune & stress support (lemon balm, marigold/calendula, lemon verbena, blue butterfly flower and passionflower), and I feel quite good after drinking them after a week+, so maybe some ideas to try! 😊

I don't know why people dive right into laying on the mat instead of taking baby steps, like placing it against a sofa cushion or wrapping it around a pillow and leaning into it so you can work your way up to putting all your weight on it. I found that holding it against my body and then leaning back works best and is drastically less painful.

Great tips Katie! Thank you for sharing another way to ease into it - I suspect a bunch of keen folk will just dive in though for the thrill hahaha 😅 My brain treated it like cold water immersion - just get right in before thinking 😂 Hope you're well and have an awesome day, and thank you for watching my video!
