04:55 - Yea, that reaction was great, lol. Do note that goblin copters and ogres from copters cannot harm cores. They just go after you and defenses. So those would have despawned eventually and you would have completed the wave ^^ That guide you're using has some really nice information, I would just like to say that the 'best items' lists are pretty out of date. While some is the same, a lot of it isn't correct anymore. Mix mode is also only good in the early-midgame maps because in the late-game meta right now, survival already caps the quality you can get. Toggling mix mode essentially just caps the quality a wave earlier and because of a certain mob in mix mode, also vastly slows down runs. So mix mode is just not worth it later, but right now you're fine ^^

Magus Quarters also as a place in my heart. I guess everyone who ever touched the 360 version ran survival on that map first. Woe was I to discover that those dastardly copters were going to cause major problems for the nightmare run...

Yeah, that "guide" seems to be very outdated, but I guess it'll work to a certain extent. After a while though, the main campaign won't really do you much good anymore, not even the Shard DLC maps (although Aquanos is decent on survival). Regardless of what you do though, Mix Mode does NOT help as much as you'd think. All it does is increase floor drop quality slightly so it caps a wave earlier than usual, at the cost of having usually longer and more tedious waves to go through. The randomness also makes it less consistent in general.

As if copters werent bad enough, they have literal FLARES that distract your ranged towers, really the only way you can handle them is brute forcing them and killing them before they get close, auras and minions definitely help

from my experience the basics of a good build are series evs buff beams and monks auras

skogers (sky ogres, goblin copters, whatever suits your fancy) actually spawn with about 30% more hp than normal ogres, but that’s only IF the copter has time to drop them off. If you destroy the copter before it deploys the ogre, the ogre will lose a huge chunk of its health (i think around half). Even better, if you destroy the copter while it’s flying in an “out of bounds” area, the ogre will drop into oblivion :)

Hey Pat! I'd like to start playing this game, but I don't know if I should play the vanilla or the redux version as I heard different opinions on it

From my understanding you can start in normal online ranked and then move to redux later on? Maybe im incorrect tho. i think the vanilla game is incredible and has SO much content. Im sure redux is great too and just adds more but i feel like for most people they don’t even reach the state where it matters, but maybe im wrong again haha

@@Retro_Pat If you dont want to reset your progress, then start with redux. you can do everything you do in vanilla on redux. Redux just adds aditional end game difficulty and gear (maybe even some extra maps and item drops). If you dont mind resetting your progress then its fine starting with vanilla. Personnally, i started doing redux because i wanted to fully reset my progress and achievements since you cant do that normally. I did that because of retro pat :P He made me come back to dungeon defenders and delete my previous progress and start fresh again🤣

Seems my previous post got deleted. maybe because of the link i posted? Anyway, congratz on unlocking nightmare on magus quarters! I made a video on my channel yesterday showing a few tips and my build for magus quarters nightmare survival which i made in nightmare hc campaign mode. hopefully it helps you in any way (or maybe it doesnt😅) But i hope it helps in any way. I used this build to jumpstart nightmare hc survival in endless spires which gives transcendent gear at wave 18+ i believe.

Do moonbase on insane or hard and do secret you will almost dubble your stats with fish pet.
