I always liked all of the Shrek movies. Shrek Forever After is underrated in my opinion but the 2nd will always be my favorite. And I love the psychology in this. My psych professor used to say "hurt people hurt people" and "helping others helps yourself"

Be carefull with the second sentence though because helping others to much can take you away from yourself. my therapist often says that sometimes it is imperative to help/get help for yourself before you help others. For if you are completely worne out it's not good for anyone.

Don't get me wrong, I like it well enough, far more than many fans of this series but I also think that out of the 5 films in this series (and yeah I'm including "Puss N Boots") this is clearly the weakest.

I think this movie and the 4th one being combined into one movie would of been super cool, Rumpel and Charming teaming up to take down Shrek and conquer Far Far Away would of been an excellent plot concept for Shrek movie that takes place after Shrek 2.

This was one of my favorites, I think my second after shrek 2, maybe I'm just easily impressed or entertained but I really liked it and even watching explanation after explanation I can't see why it's really as bad as others say. Like, it's not perfect and it's okay for someone to not like it, but SO many people despise it???

I'll give Charming credit, for a spoiled mama's boy he actually put together a surprisingly effective plan. And idiot he may be, but he's definitely good at using his "charms" to his advantage to convince the fairy tale villains to join his cause.

Yes, Donkey doesn't know how babies are made. His and Dragon's babies came about at the very end (end credits) of Shrek 2. Dragon just shows up with them. The theory is that it was how the Happily Ever After potion affected her when Donkey drank it.

I remember when I saw it in the theater and it barely got any laughs. The only parts that got laughs was the “pair of jammies” line, “somebody better be dying”, and the body swap scene. Most of the film also feels like filler, in which not much seems to be happening. The plot of Shrek uncertain if he’ll be a good father is a decent idea but it just wasn’t executed the best. And the King’s death scene felt more awkward than anything, especially with “Live & Let Die” being played at the funeral.

Someone's probably mentioned it, but there was an end credit scene at the end of Shrek 2, Dragon came flying to the stage with the babies, the reason for her moodiness & their disagreements was pregnancy

I agree, that was a legit funny part. But the scene itself felt bipolar. It’s like it couldn’t decide if it wanted to be funny or a serious moment. The use of “Live & Let Die” at his funeral was definitely in poor taste though. Maybe it was meant to be funny in an ironic sort of way but it kind of felt cringey

This film isn't really that well regarded from the Shrek films. Personally speaking I like the story(particularly that bit about Fiona's mother) and how it ties up the last bits with Charming. There is a good story about mentorship

@@nickreacts6394 Fun Fact former Monty Python cast member Eric Idle(Merlin) who had been with John Cleese(Fiona's father Harold) in Holy Grail was SUPER PISSED at DreamWorks animators "stealing" the coconut horse gag from Holy Grail. Oh and people don't understand the choice of using Live And Let Die as Harold's funeral song. For me it's a subtle lesser known call back to when John Cleese played the James Bond Tech guy in the last 2 Pierce Brosnan Bond Films

This is why I always wait/skip to the end of the credits in movies. In Shrek 2 you see Dragon and Donkey talk about their fight and meet his dragon/donkey babies. There is also a fun scene after the credits in Shrek the first film if you want to go back and watch.

You apparently haven't watched the credit sequence i the last movie where Donkey sings All By Myself depressed, then Puss tries to cheer him up suggesting going to a club to pick up some babes (including a burro for donkey). Suddenly Dragon appears and they have a short little talk before revealing the surprise that Dragon have given birth to a litter of donkey-dragon hybrids called Dronkies, which overjoys him. The scene end with Donkey saying "I gotta get a job.".

I never minded that Prince Charming is not a villain comparable to his mother because I always thought it is the point that he is clearly no hero but not even a good villain either. That works better with him alone instead of a side villain a second time. Besides he is to much a narcissist to share that possition.

All I did remember was that S&F did have babies towards the end. There were a few funny bits but overall it was - Meh, I think I could go watch grass grow and get more out of it. 😒 I didn't recall there being a 4th, I probably never bothered watching it. It was fun though watching your LOL moments. Oh I don't know if anyone mentioned this before but about a year ago a GOTs page I follow, had posted a side by side pic of Prince Charming and Jamie Lannister from the first season of GOTs and the resemblance was just uncannily funny lol! 😛 Anyways, have a good week.🌄🙏🌻🍁🍂🌻

The weakest point for this film other than the humor was the villan. Charming want a bad guy, he was selfish and spoiled but he was only doing his mothers bidding. No one would buy him doing any of that on his own accord. 🤷‍♀️ Plus they killed King Harold 😫😩Automatically an F!!😭
