Always use a metal practice one, the weight helps you get used to it. Tbh your still gonna have to practice with a sharp one at some point. You will still bleed, all part of the process of learning. So don't be afraid of it.
@RenABFF0 Жыл бұрын
Shouldn’t you at least start with a blunt (metal) one, with approximately the same weight distribution. Otherwise someone clumsy is going to get hurt, really bad, really fast
@ogiceboy5862 Жыл бұрын
@@RenABFF0 practicing using a live blade helps to build handle discipline. If you start practicing with a trainer and you think you’ve done the trick but you grabbed something at the wrong time or something similar, you could be “cutting” yourself without even knowing it. There are alternatives to building handle discipline like a trainer with a bite handle indicator, which will make you feel when you “cut yourself” but it’s not sharp obviously. But I would never recommend almost any plastic trainer to someone first getting into balisongs. It takes a lot of adjustment to metal ones.

when i was a fan of balisongs as 9 year olds i had tons of many balisongs of benchmade a comb a razor blade version of balisong and plastic one i had about 91 balisongs and spent well over 12k in usd dollars and now im 22. And yes i make money from steam as an developer.
@Dr.hashbrown Жыл бұрын
"MOST" Balisong tricks are "USUALLY" a lot easier than they look, Y2K, mermaids, zens and fans all look great and can all be easily be learned in like a day, and it's like riding a bike! You never forget it!

I learned the zen rollover rather than the y2k rollover. It's similar and is basically what the Spy does in his Meet the Team video.
@picklenik9658 Жыл бұрын
I prefer the roller too, it feel more chill and natural doing it horizontally over the thumb rather than vertically like the Y2K

@@OryXity bro ik what you’re talking about, i’ll just be with a friend and i just see him with one of those cheap dragon ones and he says he’s been flipping for a while and how he’s so good but ill just say “oh you like butterfly knives, do a helix” and watch as he just does a thumb rollover awkwardly.

Your trainer probably has handles that are too heavy. Look for something with titanium handles instead of steel.

If you keep practicing eventually you'll be able to do it with your eyes closed :) the y2k is a great and useful trick for combos and a great start for beginners because its relatively easy and looks very cool! Might i recommend you try to learn the fan opening next, also a very cool easy and fun trick
