I Learned Portuguese 100% from AI Teacher, Brazilians Stunned

The backstory here is that my team and I have developed an artificial intelligence language teacher capable of teaching you a language just like a human would through real bilingual speech to speech conversation practice, which any serious language learner will tell you is far and away the single most effective way to learn. @@dennerguilhon it's not exactly the same, but as someone who is currently in Rio and taking Portuguese classes and already knew very basic Spanish, it's probably the biggest head start you could possibly have. And he said he chose it for the "challenge" Even in his video he uses words that are almost identical. At my language schools (I'm currently attending two) the professors won't put a Spanish speaker in the same beginner class as a non Spanish speaker because the Spanish speaker will already understand so much. If you're from either country you're kidding yourself if you want to try denying it.

And mind that most of those teachers are really bad at their job... As a teacher, you can find job almost instantly, and you don't even have to be good... The ratio between teachers and students in primary and secondary education levels is 1:25 (1 teacher per 25 students on average) and now we live in time where it's possible to make it 1:1. How is that a bad thing? Everyone in this world should be able to get all the education they want and AI can make that reality

Once you have learned a few languages the rest come easier. Concepts like conjugation, tenses, gender, word order, subject verb agreement... don't need to be taught to you anymore you can just pick up that they are happening and focus on the few more unique aspects of the language that will stick out more. Also the fact Spanish is probably his 3rd best language (after english and chinese) would have helped him A LOT with this as they are mutually intelligible and share 80-90% of vocab and grammar.

Às vezes a tradução direita ajuda e pensar em como se diz: "eu quero comprar uma salada de fruta" ou "se eu soubesse que estava chovendo eu teria pegado um guarda-chuva" na língua alvo e repetir ao infinito

Sou brasileiro e falo português, inglês, espanhol e estou finalizando o italiano. Os próximos idiomas serão francês e alemão. Eu demoro 1 ano estudando e vivendo, assistindo e lendo 1 hora por dia cada idioma, então eles acabam tornando-se naturais para mim. Parabéns pela escolha do novo idioma. Não sei se é apenas marketing ou se você levará a sério o aprendizado, mas espero que continue, porém em 11 dias não tem milagre, pois o cérebro tem limite de novas informações específicas e só absorve melhor enquanto descansado. Dedico 365 horas por ano a cada idioma e mais algumas muitas horas por ano consumindo mídia, e até mesmo trocando os idiomas dos meus dispositivos, como tv, smartphone, entre outras coisas. Tudo que você dedica tempo e periodicidade, você se torna mestre. Parabéns!

@theloniousmagno sou venezuelano, tenho 6 meses morando no Brasil. Gustó muito do idioma e costumes de vocês más ainda tenho muito coisas para aprender de sua língua, preciso mais treino. Eu faço o seguinte pra o inglês, assisto 1h de vídeos, séries o filmes eu comecei com conteúdo de criança e depois aumentei o nível de dificuldade, depois faço estudo de palavras no app de Anki, e durante o dia tentou de ouvir música inglês. No total eu faço cerca de 2 hrs de inglés cada día, mesmo que eu sei que não e suficiente pra ter un nível avançado por enquanto e o melhor que posso fazer

Nice attempt! This is very impressive for so short a time! One thing that you will have to learn is the sing song kind of way a lot of brazilians speak (its almost like how a tenessee accent works in english), once you get that down it really makes your accent stick. Xaioma, congrats man! I moved to Brazil in 2015 and it took me about the same amount of time to get where you did in 11 days. I had the benefit of being immersed fully, so I was able to listen to many different people talking about many subjects. If I could recommend something, it would be to try and copy the pronunciation of the AI bot. Their accents are on point. If you can get those phonemes on point, you'll start speaking a lot more smoothly.

He has a video where he actually had his brain scanned because many people have said this. It's called, "Scientists Scan My Brain to See If I’m a Genius". I think the key to Xiaoma's learning so quick is because most of his videos are centered around food and visiting food places so his learning is situational. He also has a website called, "Street-Smart Language course" where he details how he does this. Also helps that he has the confidence to speak even though he knows he is probably going to be saying some thing incorrectly.
