They’re called Pigs in a Blanket. You can just use Vienna sausage and Pillsbury crescent rolls. They’ve been around for well over 50 yrs.

I love hotdogs, but this looks like trash. There is no "famous restaurant" that would make these ans no one going to a nice restaurant will want to order these. Please stop trying to say you learned your ridiculous recipes from chefs, friends in other countries, or boyscouts because you didnt. Calling your recipes chef inspired is an insult to all chefs. I would know I am one.

Interesting spin on the old family favorite of "pigs in a blanket!" Have done this when our kids were little (the youngest is now 42), only we baked them in the oven. The mayo just adds additional unnecessary grease - the pastry dough has plenty in it already. And they taste better if you use barbecue sauce instead of the ketchup/mayo mix.

@@slacker1 Haha, I grew up in town about 75 mi SW of Houston, went to school 1-8 grades starting about 60 years ago now where the lady running the cafeteria still had her Czech accent and many kids grandmothers still didn't speak English, only Czech. Yep, kolaches are very popular, unfortunately very few are real kolaches, they just don't get the dough right, it's like a regular bread roll and that ain't the right taste or texture.

@@michaelsklenka4452 I’ve made dumplings from Flour Tortillas. There pretty close to homemade I guess. Did it a few times when I was in a hurry. Saves about 20 minutes over making them from scratch.

Boiling a hot dog releases the grease, then it doesn't soak into the pastry.

What's the purpose of the initial boil? Hot dogs are precooked already, and this ends with them in an air fryer for 15 minutes. There's no need for that initial cooking as far as I can tell.

Helps if you add a little sweet pickle relish to make that salad dressing - and maybe just the tiniest touch of Dijon mustard ..... 🙂 I've been making my own that way for over 50 years!

@@EducatedSkeptic I thought about embellishments, but just kept it simple. You're right though. Although I prefer a sweet gherkin relish (no dill!). Interestingly, if I add a little bit of the generic yellow curry powder to it when making pasta salad, people taste boiled egg when there is none.

Probably pre-cooking or to remove some of the fat in them - but you then add more grease with the mayo, and hot dogs (a.k.a., skinny bologna logs) are pre-cooked already anyway.
