Curious where this range is… or where I could learn this type of shooting. Great episode!
@riffedwood559710 ай бұрын
This range is somewhere near LA. There are training centers all over the USA. Knowledge is power and training is priceless
@vinhsanity10 ай бұрын
This is Taran Tactical, not likely you can train there without an invitation. But there are ranges like this all over America. While this is more of action sports shooting, you could pair this with other classes on CQB and other styles such as tactical, defensive, etc.

To be honest, you could buy land and MAKE your own range like this. Not TOO hard.

Great show. One recommendation for the channel is to provide more details in the description. You don’t give credit to the trainers.

id say hes very in control of the gun.
@EJCAudio10 ай бұрын
I've no idea of Tim Ferriss' politics - but it's possible to have gun control *and* tactical shooting ranges. I live in the UK where we have some of the strictest gun control laws in the world, and have safely fired automatic rifles, shotguns, air rifles, crossbows etc. in recreational settings.

What disappointment @Timferris, until this episode you were someone I admired so much, America is going into a very dark moment, guns and Trump are a big part of that, guns were designed to kill, and getting good at that has deep complications for you and for society
@hombrealagua11 ай бұрын
Tim, such a disappointment that within the context we're living you are presenting a tactical shooting video. Incredible.

The world has always been dangerous; the unprecedented times were post WW2 when Boomers were coddled in safety. “Sell your cloak and buy a sword.”
@aslanyo11 ай бұрын
Clueless and ignorant. This is simple COMPETITION style shooting. This is literally 3 Gun competition shooting. There are timers, safety rules and scoring at the end. “The context we are living”? I live less than a 100 yards from this range. So this is literally the “context” I live in.

@@aslanyo Yes, I am pretty much ignorant about guns even though my father and grandfather owned guns, it was a common thing back in the days (in México), kind of like owning watches. I have friends that do it as a sport as well. Even though my terrible country's violence is mostly related to organized crime, most of the families aren't engaged in gun ownership or gun sports, it's not part of our culture as it is in the US. My point here is that although this is a sports, agility and focus skills related video, the knowledge, images and sound are very similar to what we think of when thinking about violence, war, suffering and dead children in schools. A proof of this is that after watching this video the algorithm is already suggesting violent content, more guns... and this makes the case of what is exactly my concern of a video like this from a top thinker like Tim, he has a big audience from different age groups, some may not be mentally mature to separate a sport from normalizing a violent act. They will get into a downward spiral of violent shooting AI fed content. Now about "your context"... well I guess that's ATX or somewhere around, I know Texas, spent many vacations there as a kid, did a sustainable residential development near Wimberley, run some races also... I know a little bit about your surroundings... by context I meant The World.
@aslanyo11 ай бұрын
@@hombrealagua I will agree that I don’t know you and your background. But guns are not violent. A gun is inanimate object, like an automobile… or like a knife. Bad people are violent. Stay away from bad people. Get around some awesome 2A community members of the United States. You will see a huge cultural difference. And so you know- this is Southern California. Imagine that 🤔.
@hombrealagua11 ай бұрын
@@aslanyo Thanks, the thing is that this is not a museum where we are watching inanimate objects, this is powerful online visual content highly promoted by AI engines (because Tim is famous and is a reference for knowledge in general) so we're not watching an auction about objects. We are watching objects and people in action. I understand there is a crowd for everything and people may get their share of knowledge and entertainment somehow, just did't know Tim was into shooting guns and I'm personally disappointed, the least thing I want to see when I open my KZbin are guns from someone I follow. Anyway... It is what it is. Sorry about missing the SoCal part! I love Southern California. Best.
