In this video lesson, GM Igor Smirnov shares with you one of the most unknown, underrated, and powerful chess openings for White: the Center Game, which arises after the opening moves 1.e4 e5 2.d4.
Several years ago, when Igor Smirnov was an International Master, his new coach taught him this really cool opening. That's when he realized that this opening is much trickier than he thought. Many of your opponents will be unprepared, and you can surprise them with this tricky opening.
You will learn the key ideas of the opening, an aggressive variation for White in the mainline, and some nasty checkmating traps!

A very good sideline in the Center Game. Black has to sacrifice material to get a better position and weak amateurs never do that. Even if they do, they will spend the rest of the time trying to restore the material balance instead of using their winning activity advantage. In that case your material advantage with white becomes decisive. Free two pawn-up endgames against the best black defense in that case. The best for Back in every Center Gane line is ...Bb4(+), not mentioned at all here, and any logical point. Here 4...Bb4+ instead of 4...Nf6 gives both sides equal chances of winning with bets play.

I play chess since I'm 6. I had "pervy razryad" :-)) Which is equal ~1900-2000 ELO. This is the by far best channel about chess. Watching it the last year. The best explanations in the way how average player would understand. Without going into too many side lines. And the good thing is, that Igor explains positions. This is crucial!

I never looked at the center game. Good opening. Looks like there is considerable theory lurking as you get higher in the ranks. I can already see several possible transpositions.

Been looking for something new to play and this looks good. I e been playing 1e4-e5 2d4 opponent almost always takes with e x d4 and I push f4 and pretty much no matter what they do next I’m moving knight to f3. I never see them bring the queen to the h file to deliver a quick check but g3 is always there if they do.This is my way of tricking players into getting into a kings gambit set up without realizing what they’ve done..Except that theyre not prepped.None of their pieces will be in the defensive position they normally would be in the kings gambit. The computer does thinks black is already winning after f4 but who cares this is fun and you can catch a lot of people off guard and have a knight and bishop all over the black kings f pawn before they realize what’s happening

This should come with warning: with perfect play white is worse by over a pawn. I think you should at least go through what the main line is so people fully understand the opening. You’re basically teaching hope chess here.
