Nia Congrats on this adventure you're on. I regret so much not getting my own truck in 2000. That's a super sharp truck you got there. One suggestion, I would write down a checklist of things you need to get done and setup. You have a big advantage of not having a mortgage or rent to pay. You got this girl, just run hard and save, save for that Big 379 Pete. I wouldn't put your logo on your truck, too many weirdo's out there. Just my opinion. Stay safe. Peace ✌ and Love ❤.

I’m a dispatcher and watch your videos and just wanted to say congrats on your new truck and journey, the one thing I will say about leasing a truck with a major carrier is they will give you loads meanwhile they are paying off the truck and once it gets close to you actually paying it off the loads slow down and your screwed cause you can not use the truck to get work anywhere else and the payment can only be made by the company, and that’s how they take advantage of this, just be careful most of these major carriers are really shady.

With the TriPak APU you just press & hold the first button for like 2-3 seconds & it'll fire right up. You can turn the nob left for the AC, middle for the fan & right for the heat. When you turn the heat on you may have to give it a few minutes before it starts to blow warm air. The good thing with the TriPak's is that they can be used to charge your batteries as well. Like if you decide to do a 34 in a hotel or somewhere away from the truck, you can put your TriPak in standby mode & it'll fire up if your batteries start to get low and will charge them back up. Lots of benefits to having TriPak apu

I have a 2019 Peterbilt 579, and the interiors are basically the same. I removed both the passenger side bottom and middle cabinets, leaving room for my huge 4.5 Cubic Feet Frigidaire mini fridge (less than $300) on the floor. With the passenger seat all the forward, I have a three drawer storage bin for a dresser between the back of the seat and the side of the mini fridge. Hanging clothes are freely open above the fridge since the bar is still mounted underneath the top cabinet that’s still there. Basically an open concept. I would love to send you a pic for a visual, but just not able. Also I might add, I got a Cobra Pro3000 watt Power Inverter ($360) pushing out juice to run the mini fridge, microwave, TV, electric griddle, etc. That all cost less than the semi truck mini fridge the dealer wanted to install for me, excluding labor cost. Anyway, just thought I’d give ya some food for thought. Good luck with your new chapter in life.

Congrats, Prime is a good company as you can see all the amenities they offer - it does not look like a typical trucking company. Prime knows trucking and so will you! I will not go into too much details, but after orientation they want you out running - so don’t take too long to leave the terminal. By the way you are funny! Back to business, get all you need to get done with your truck and start to work. Prime likes people that moves their load - any who you will find out! Lol good luck and all the best - you are with the best trucking company!

Leasing from a company that has there own drivers is usually a bad deal, I hope you looked into this fully. Prime make more % on loads done by their drivers, when you get a prime load they make less cut - that always means the highest profit loads don't end up being given to you. Companies like mercer are 100% owner operator, everyone is on the same cut. You can get your truck leases arranged straight from dealers. Your putting people in the middle of your money who don't need to be there and take from your potential

I understand that the idea of putting your logo on it has come up, and I wanted to share some thoughts with you. While branding your truck with your logo is a great way to promote your work and talents, I'd like to gently caution you about the potential risks, especially in your line of work. Given the nature of media and the need for privacy and safety, it might be worth considering the balance between visibility and personal security. Perhaps there are alternative ways to showcase your brand without making your presence too conspicuous. This way, you can maintain a level of anonymity and security when needed while still effectively promoting your media endeavors. Ultimately, the decision is entirely yours, and I trust your judgment. I just wanted to offer this perspective as you weigh your options. I'm here to support you in whatever choice you make, and I'm excited to see where your media journey takes you. Wishing you continued success and safety in all your endeavors.

congrats on the new truck and new job. Prime aint bad. aint for everyone but alot of people seem happy there and if they are thats all that matters. I looked into prime and just didnt go with them cus I like weekly home time and prefer not to run OTR. As far as swift doing that.. idk how much it matters. Werner never told me about a incident that happened where I apparently hit a low hanging street light. It was caught on camera, my truck missed it but the top of the trailer scraped the bottom of it. I was never told about it until I left. When id talk to other carriers and told them no one ever was that concerned since I wasnt told. Alot of times carriers do that just to scare you and try and keep you. An abandoned truck or major accident is the worst thing you can have. And Peterbilts are sweet. My favs are Kenworths, but after being in all but WesternStars and Volvos.. I pick cascadias now. Simply for the breakdown turn arounds. Kenworths and Peterbilts it always costs more, and parts are in shorter supply. Im not sure how primes lease works and if you have to pay the repairs or if youre just paying for the truck payment or what. Either way its your home for time away and should be enjoyable and whats the most comfortable. no matter what good luck and stay safe!

I'm in a fleece purchase myself, you have to stay rolling 24/7, or you'll get behind on payments, it's a ruthless schedule with no time off. It's the buy here pay here of trucking

My last truck was a 2023 peterbilt with a paccar motor. I had to put it in the shop and was told it would take 5 months to get a sensor. I personally would get a new cascadia if I were you. They get better fuel mileage and their Def system is way better than the peterbilts. But it's your choice. Oh and in my 15yrs of trucking I have only leased trucks and was successful in every lease. You can do it . And my free tip to you is finish each pay period with ur fuel tank on empty lol. You don't want ur paycheck in your fuel tank. Good luck

Congratulations on your next journey! Also, I started out with swift getting my CDL and they lied and out a fatality accident on my DAC report! There is no police reports or evidence of a at fault fatality other wise I’d be in prison! So I had to surrender my CDL and wait from 2019 until now. So I have a clean DAC! Prime is a great company glad your doing it Gods way 💙

Nia, that pull out drawer where u raised the lid, that’s like a work station, do your paperwork on it or keep stuff like pens and notebooks inside it and slide it shut, i had one in my old peterbilt and i also used to sit my laptop on mine while doing work on it., take a note pad and make yourself a check list of things you want to do and have to do before you hit the road so you won’t forget. Congrats on the new ride.

Love the Peterbilt. Just Beautiful.. I'm a contractor and I fell in love with them in the supply yards when I was a kid I always thought they looked massive compared to everything else..lmk if you are ever near exit 4 on the Jersey tp, cherry Hill.. great places to eat around here

Send a demand letter asking to remove the false info. Dac is a credit reporting system so they are held by the same laws. As for your the lease just know your numbers and keep it tight you're smart enough for it 😊

22:24 You peel off that liner if you want to have a see through work top. It’ll get scratched though once you remove the “cardboard colored” tape liner. Just peel it right off.

Tear it up, girl. I think you have the right attitude. Make that money while you’re young & get established, and learn, learn, learn! I would love to do what you’re doing, but I lost a good portion of my left vision following several surgeries for a detached retina. I still have my MEC, but don’t know what’s coming, so I fell back to property maintenance, which I hate. It’s gotta be the most disrespected job in the world I swear. Go live girl, & don’t look back. You don’t know what’s around the next curve -

If you really like all that space in plastic trucks, you’ll really hate 379/389 Those trucks don’t have any room inside. You can barely squeeze between the seats to get to the sleeper.

I use a "Alpicool T50" 12v refrigerator in the upper bunk in my Pete for a 2nd refrigerator. Works great, 12 volt doesn't require an inverter. Just leave the bunk up.

You know there's a tire shop across the freeway from you. Over the overpass behind that gas station. Over the freeway south. And make a left heart that conical station whatever the hell it is. Just before you get to the end of the tire shop. Right next to that truck and place ort. 👍🏽. You want to start a team look me up. Just down the street from you there . K.T. clinic to get your physical. Kearney South. Just passed the batting cage. Two-story brown building on the right going sou❤🤷🏽♂️ Good luck girl. Wish you all the besto you and yours 🐶😊😎🤞🏽🙋🏽♂️.

My advice for minimizing potential issues that can come up with these peterbilts as I've had afew with prime and spent a good amount of time at shops. Do not go by the extended maintenance intervals. 70k miles for oil and fuel filter changes is a cost effective option provided to fleets by manufactures to get as many miles as possible outta these trucks before they dump them on for sale lots at 400k miles, that is..if they make it that far. Even with synthetic oil, 25k-35k miles max. Same with fuel filters. I'd recommend getting your DPF filter cleaned once a year. Over time, that DPF system breaks down and loses the ability to burn soot the way it needs to resulting in buildups, getting that filter baked once a year will save you thousands in potential tow bills and from having to get that system cleaned after the fact. Cummins are a lot more susceptible to abuse than paccars, you can't just hop in the driver seat and throw the gear selector into D with these paccar engines. It will catch up to you, you either pay now or pay later from my experience.

I recommend that you used that side door when D.O.T comes knocking on your door at rest stop for inspection. this way you are still in the sleeper and not automatically put on duty for sitting on driver seat. me personally, I'm going to be butt naked when D.O.T comes a knocking. Maybe he will walk away. lol love the side the door. helps me out a lot.
@kingmadness0592 Жыл бұрын
I'll give you some advice, watch your fuel consumption, keep that door closed and try to deliver early as much as you can. Hopefully you started a llc for the most tax benefits. Good luck out there
