As a kid who watch almost 7 years of Team Edge while growing up, the channel falling off was not due to the amount of effort in the videos or any of the people in them; it was solely the kids like me just growing up. Team Edge will be less something you hated for it not working out and more something that jump started y’all’s careers. Im 16 now and I’m Proud of what yall have made with your lives and watching all of you guys start beautiful, happy families. The sadness of the channel leaving is completely overtaken by the fact that yall are doing what makes YOU happy and not what fans are controlling your lives to be. Proud of you Joey.

@@iambear.6526 Same thing. Never heard of them. Never heard of this person either. Was going to watch it and then decide not to. Saw the OP comment and they are more wrong than they think. The real reason strong channels lose viewers is not because people are growing older. Its because there are millions of channels out there that do content. There are so many channels that do this or that. A person can get sick and tired of stuff from one content creator because of a number of reasons and find someone who can fill that slot. There are so many channels that a viewer can find the exact type of content they like. Keep in mind that 5 to 10 years ago were peek views when there were only a few channels. Now anyone can go viral and start a channel. Many will start out strong and flop while some will keep growing. Its all about keeping up with the trends and giving the viewer what they want to see and not what you want to see. I know how this goes because I watch a number of channels that would do very good if they would only do their most popular videos. Yet they still keep putting out crap and less of the popular videos because that is what they like and only a handful of people like. Also people get sick of watching the same thing over and over. If you build stuff and it takes more than one video to build it the views will drop because no one wants to sit and watch you build that thing for months or years on end. It gets old very fast. I watch a channel where a guy builds and fixes things yet he has more than a dozen projects going at once and does all kinds of videos. It keeps people happy, some mad because you do not get to see the video finished for a long time. Yet he just finished up one project not long ago yet I have a feeling that we will see another video of it in due time.

i love this channel, super dope. I'm 22 and growing up in a Hispanic household and working in construction with my stepdad since i was 8-attention to detail and the love for building is definitely something always in my mind and something seemingly dying out that i strongly hope to keep alive. Happy to see I'm not the only one, i love how you are transparent about being let down by your mistakes but flawlessly make them the spotlight of your creations. 10/10 we want more, god bless you and your family and this channel.

Great Story! Great Motivation! Thank you. No idea how I found you... But I'm locked in and ready to finish what I have started. Not a youtuber but I build... My office is a freak of tech, not like anything on KZbin but... Let's just say your story landed very close to home. Can't wait to see what's next. "Careful what you click on!" I.

It's so cool to see what you're up to now J-Fred! (I'm going to have to get used to thinking of you as Joey now lol) I've been watching Matthias since he was on Internet Icon. I remember loving the skit you guys did together "Fredrichi Brothers" and that introduced me to your channel. I was a huge fan of Team Edge especially in the early days. I hope you have a great time with this channel! God Bless!

Been watching you since Team Edge began in 2015, I was upset when it ended, saw this video, saw it was over an hour, thought I’d check it out for like 5 mins… ended up being hooked immediately and watched the whole thing! Loved the workshop, loved the story you told on top of it and loved seeing it all come together. I’m super excited and can’t wait to see what’s next! God bless you and your family and best of luck Joey!

Man, thanks for this video, the part when you rediscover your passion with the Team Edge Whac-A-Mole... Made me think about me and my own passions, to not give up on it. I do not grow up watching Team Edge, I already was an adult, I watched it to light up my days, for fun and it turns out that I'm a huge fan of DYI channels too, so, here we are. The workshop looks awesome, by the way!

I watched the whole channel and you have inspired me. I too am a new wood worker and I love your energy. I too am struggling with disease (Kidney Disease). It is hard to even get up sometimes. I have been diving into wood projects and it makes me feel awesome to work in my garage (shop). I love your story, brought tears to my eyes as I watched and listened. Your savor Jesus came through clear, it touched me. I promise to watch every video. Thanks for giving me hope.

41:23 Zevia is the greatest soda on earth. 💯 Your dad jokes, storytelling-combined with sharing your faith, life as a dad, the challenges you’ve faced, and how you’ve overcome them-makes for really enjoyable content. Perhaps I’ll reach out for a shop reaction when I build mine out. 😎 Thanks for sharing your journey!

Amazing video, I am one who rarely watches hour long videos, but so far I've watched two of your video (this one and the office) - and I've loved them both. Your story telling while showing what you're building/making in the video makes it extremely easy to watch for an hour. Thanks for the videos!

I just finished watching the entire video and I can confidently say I can't wait to see your other videos and to see what the future holds here with you. I remember being there when team edge were making backyard videos and its crazy to think about that it's almost been 10 years. I was 9 years old when I found that channel and now I'm 18, and still I love seeing all of your channels and the different projects you are all doing. I send as much love and support as I can and I hope you can keep your hopes and dreams going. Much love. -Alek

I look forward to the projects and videos that come out of this joey. You seem to have found a true calling and passion for something you’ve worked towards. I’m a huge Team Edge fan and I was sad to see y’all go but I was happy to see you all develop into something new and exciting for each of you and I believe change is good. Change brings about new thoughts and ideas, new challenges with different perspectives, new questions with new answers. That’s the beauty of life my man. I ready to see what you can produce out of this shop and I wish you the best in life.

Oh wow Joey, it came out amazing! I've been following Team Edge for a very long time, and while I was sad to see it over, I agree with you that sometimes, a door has to close for a window to open. I think this is your calling Joey. I can't wait to see what you create next.

Hey Joey, I discovered Team Edge last year and since then I think I watched every video at least twice and some of them 3-4 times. So sad when you guys announced retirement from Team Edge but seeing a new channel of yours, definitely excited. Love you man. Thanks for entertaining us and putting smiles on our faces and with J-Jokes.❤❤

Man I was waiting for when we would get some more new fresh content from you and I’m pleasantly surprised at how good this video was with the voice over work and editing. And I must say the shop looks absolutely amazing, probably the best I’ve ever seen. The yellow and black colors work very well together. Very happy to see you back and I am very excited to see what content we’ll get in the future. All love to you and your craft man.

Shop looks lit Joey, nicely set up and everything handy and convenient! Great video, amazing how much I can identify. From the struggles of ur earlier life, with health, or finding purpose and direction, to being a woodworker, although I havent gotten into cool, fancy stuff that much, Im mostly into building houses. One of these days when I get more time and space I’ll get to making the more intricate stuff, and pinterest worth projects! 😄 Again, great video, love the content u and ur bro and bil have put out over the years. Gods blessings on ur family, ur work, ur passion, and whatever u pursue. U guys have been a great inspiration, on a platform, that quite frankly is used way more for entertaining and giving glory to oneself instead of glory to God. Uv earned another subscriber! God bless!!
