If you can perfect the Solar panels, you will do good. Some places have Solar panels that look like roof tiles. Much better looking. And the whole continent needs it. But you need to have Solar that totally replaces electricity for the whole house. Some places have that and you should look into it to see how it is done. I suggest a battery that is charged by the Sun and has at least a 72 hour operating life in case of no Sun, which is very rare there.

With out oil there is no Solar, the materials used in making solar panels are Oil based. In fairness, we also need to understand that not everyone in Ghana is in the economic class of people who can afford solar panels and battery packs. That's thousands of dollars. Tens of thousands if you want it to run reliably through the night and sequential cloudy days.

If more Electricial and Electronic Engineers arrive in Africa to help in the infrastructure development of this technology throughout the country, thousand of jobs will be created, that will create profits & installations, and repairs needed can & will be done. It won't happen nationwide over night, but it can be done. There are couples in the world, putting these systems up on their property without an engineers physical assistance. Those who talk discouragement, don't want you to succeed. It's like a school counselor, telling you "Ohh, that's not an opportunity for you to look into" or "you don't have the brain power to do that". It's called attacking a person's self-esteem, a form of mental slavery, behind what some members in society try to instill in impressionable minds, what society feels, a person can, is allowed to, or cannot or is restricted to do.

Africa is one of the last outposts for development,western economies have reached their maximum growth potential ,things have plateaued. Their economies may still grow but in tiny increments. The Chinese know this. Africa is ripe for investment ,for those willing to invest/start businesses,where exponential growth will be literally off the charts. It won't happen overnight,but with hard work the rewards will be many. If I was younger (I'm not old but...)and didn't have so many commitments I would be out there like a rocket.

5:03, @wode maya, I like the way you insist on 'what kind of systems'. It is good we ask these questions so that we are aware of the challenges and know how to tackle them. Thank you wode for being our mouth piece.

I am South African and I have this dream of opening up a solar company in Zimbabwe. Before the whole corona thing this year I was working for a solar panel manufacturing company and I was fortunate enough to get to interact with people from all over but I truly enjoyed interacting with my African brothers and sisters. I'd say what I enjoyed the most was how they would approach me with problems that I hadn't been exposed to before. I remember this Zimbabwean gentleman wanted me to design a solar system to run his irrigation system during the day with no backup or grid connection using a grid tied inverter with no grid to tie it to 😅. It's not impossible to do but what I enjoyed from the experience was applying all that I've learnt through my years studying and with the practical experience I have to help someone resolve an issue they have which would take years for the government to resolve. So I really want to start my own solar company in Zimbabwe, I don't know why but I love the people and I'm just drawn to the place. I feel as if it is the best place to use all that I've learnt.

Are you seeking investors for this venture?
@zunguk.20052 жыл бұрын
@@passportready4466 of course. As it is right now I have a small company with only 1 permanent employee(me) and I do residential electrical installations. It's called Zungu Electrical & Solar Solutions Ltd.
