Yes, I understand both that it has helped you to progress in mixing and that you take the stuff with you when you're DJing, because under certain circumstances you use this device like an instrument, and if you then get into a stressful situation where you don't have your familiar technique, it slows down your workflow, which shapes your style, and that's what distinguishes one from the other, and then you end up in a 41° hot club where you've maybe been freaking out for 4 hours yourself, and then it helps if everything is as it should be and you don't have to "look here and there" somewhere and load crap tracks into the wrong player, if you know what I mean. You're probably getting pretty close to my record box in terms of weight, I mean.

@7:40 VirtualDJ has allowed u to add effects to specific stems since they 1st came out in 2020 with their 1st version of stems. This was 2 years prior to stems splitting being introduced in dj software. The plus side with vdj is that u get all those features using any device from beginner to professional, unlike some other programs that require specific hardware to be able to do it.

Hi, thank you for you video, I leave five requests to Native Instruments put on a new controller S4: add another knob on the equalization line, which we can control the equalization Type Xone or if we use only three-band equalization that new knob is use for panning! The channel faders should work more smoothly. The channel faders should have a longer travel, now they are 45mm, they should be minimum 55mm. The crossfader should be optional. What do you think?
@NueNueKiroАй бұрын
When N.I tried to cater to the techno crowd they really failed big time, just look at the S8, S5 and D2, which were very techno oriented devices. I personally think if you really want the xone experience, just get a xone, the integration with 96 is spot on (let's remember that xone 96 was leaked from traktor of all places because there were some references in the code before it was actually released). Also, the xone EQ emulation is pretty trash compared to the real thing, unlike the filter emulation. Personally i never had a problem with the length and tension of the faders, but yet again that's probably a taste thing, since my channel A and B have loosened over time because of the way I play with quick cuts and stabs. Regarding the crossfader, it's going to be more expensive to have 2 units produced, one with and one without. Since they try to cater to a wider audience I think the presence of the crossfader is a wise move. I would love to include again an innofader as standard for those who want to actually use it (the Z2 was the 1st OEM implementation of this fader so I don't see why it can't be on this one as well)

hi Thozi and first of all to the bro who switched from Pioneer to Denon, I understand you completely, unfortunately Denon is not a club standard and five years ago Denon was definitely the better hardware but I don't understand why Pioneer prevailed so much but whatever that's the start, here's a little comment, Thozi, if you want, I have 2-3 things that simplify the workflow in Traktor Instant (again, just speaking from my point of view but maybe it helps) if you want, then answer me I also want to stress again with the following comment that I don't want to exclude, insult, belittle anyone there are "PlayStation types and Xbox types" and that's how it is when DJing too Great video and I warmly welcome you to the Native family. For me it's the other way around. I've been installing Pioneer hardware in my DJ setup for the first time for a few weeks now, in the form of an xdj.1000 MK3 I borrowed AlienHeath and the Pioneer A9 because I somehow decided: "I need a Pioneer mixer too". But I've been playing fine scratch since 2008 and vinyl for even longer, so I have high demands on the mixer and the mixer I'm looking for has to be able to integrate and process all possible types and sources like the A9, and since I noticed during setup that the mixer I need is the one I already have, the S.4 MK3 + MACBOOK and audio midi setup The A9 is a mixer (approx. $2500) that can do what Native users have always been able to do. But we need the laptop, which is fine with me. The truth is that you would also have to buy the Mac in addition to the S4 (approx. $900 + $1500 for the Mac...airM3 16GB) so they are not that different in terms of price and if you want to make music at a certain level, in my opinion there are only versions of the original in terms of the engine and timecode technology and everything else from Pioneer is a makeshift in my opinion. I also realise that it is always a question of money and for a bit of fun at home or at a party with friends there are definitely much cheaper versions. I used to travel around with a record case at the weekend. Try carrying 80 records around with you. 🤭🫨You could have just stuck a MacBook between the records, I wouldn't have noticed. A few weeks is not much time to really draw a final conclusion. To put it this way: what I noticed about Pioneer DJ is that they place a lot of emphasis on the organisation of the library and primarily on calculating the best-fitting tracks, but in my eyes that is the core competence of the DJ and of course the internal effects, if you want them. In general, you can say that if you are up for a bit of homework, equipping the tracks with effects and loops and structuring the set from A to Z, use Pioneer. It will help you learn these steps faster and more innovatively. Are you a classic DJ who is currently innovative in transferring to the dance floor and reacting to the moment? And also if you think you want to integrate additional sources to maintain the original character of mixing or in German "Auflegen", then go for native. Yes and secondly I think you have already suggested something like that, if you talk about Pioneer and Traktor as computer games, Pioneer is definitely payto WIN T his has been translated with Google I hope you can understand it so in this sense raise your hands weekend

Pioneer's killer feature is their Rekordbox ecosystem. As of my knowledge, Virtual DJ seems to be the only DJ software besides Rekordbox, which allows you to directly export full featured CDJ USB sticks. This said, I am excluding software and cloud services which are is not designed to DJ with. Also, last time I checked, Virtual DJ can only export memory cues as copies from hot cues. This means that memory cues and hot cues must be at the same position. Please correct me, if this has been changed in newer versions of Virtual DJ. Pioneer's USB stick dominance today is not much different from Microsoft's .doc file dominance in the 90's. If you want full compatibility to the professional standard without jumping through hoops, you have to go with their products. I think CDJ USB export is the key feature to have in order to gain significant market share. NI should work on this and way more people would buy their gear and software.

DJCU is the way I found to convert your playlists with all the meta data (key/beat grid/etc AND cue points) from Traktor. It has a few shortcomings that I’ve found such as only being available for macOS, cue points will only show up as memory points when using CDJ-900nxs. I think from 2000’s onwards they show up as cue points. Definitely do on XDJ-1000 mk2’s. Also, the DJCU only converts the playlists, so you still need to use Rekordbox (free) to export to a USB, at which point you can modify the cue point’s colours/names/etc, include all the CDJ preferences, sync back and fourth. It sounds complicated, and yes it’s jumping through a couple of hoops to get there, but that conversion utility makes it actually reallllly easy. :) and you end up with a PIONEER formatted drive that you can gig with! :) It’s a one time fee paid app, but it’s not overly expensive and if you need this functionality, you’ll use it all the time :) Google ‘DJCU’ or ‘and the groove remains’ or follow the link below. atgr-production-team.sellfy.store/p/emuy/ Personally, I’ve used the S4 for the past year and I love it and Tracktor. I do plan on getting a Mini club standard setup (2x XDJ 1000 mk2’s and a DJM 750 mk2) for home eventually……when I can afford and justify the $$$ 😭😅😊

I don't know man. Most of the advantages of Traktor over Rekordbox you listed don't really exist: Rekordbox supported dynamic beat grids since forever. When manually adjusting a track's BPM, you can make a cut at a certain point in track and then set a different BPM after that point. There is even an option for automatic analysis with variable bpm in the settinga, but the results it produces are a bit questionable. Applying effects to only a certain stem also definitely is a thing, it's the whole selling point of FLX10. I haven't tried, as I mostly play on a FLX10, but I assume it could also be MIDI mapped onto other controllers. There is no sequencer in RB to my knowledge though, so if programming drums on the fly is your thing, then Traktor may actually be better. Personally I just use an external drum machine in those rare cases when I think I'll need to make custom drum loops on the fly.
@thozimusic2 ай бұрын
Hmm, I feel you. I guess with the dynamic beat grid I should have specified that on Traktor it’s a rather easy and seamless process. About the effects, I don’t think you understand, it isn’t a feature on a controller, but available on the software even if there isn’t a controller connected. Also, keep in mind that the S4 is an old controller, but still didn’t need remapping. The step sequencer is an actual game changer, it has now been made available on RB through the GRV controller, but as far as I know, it only does loops and not actual steps, and since rekordbox stems are just bad, the feature is wasted (at least for now). In my opinion, the only advantage that Rekordbox (and of course pioneer/alpha theta) have over the competition is that they’re at every club and event and we just HAVE to use their gear. But other than that, the competition has caught up. I have been experimenting with the Denon DJ stuff recently and maaan, those guys are actually pioneering 😅
@grizeldiSLO2 ай бұрын
@@thozimusic Don't get me wrong, I'd switch away from Pioneer in a heartbeat if other soft/hardware bothered supporting memory cues 😅 Everyone but Pioneer thinks of them as a legacy feature and supports conversion to hot cues at best, but personally I love them for quickly finding where to start my track from. Stems on an S4 don't need remapping because long before stems were a thing in most software, traktor was trying to push an audio format, where you'd buy music from artists that was already split into stems with no need for separation in the DJ software. It didn't catch on, but functionality was already there on old controllers for when traktor 4 added stem splitting. Rekordbox didn't have any stem functionality before the FLX10 release. Groove Circuit is just a new marketing name for the existing sampler + drum stem mute with a new coat of paint on top. It's unfortunately still far from a proper sequencer.

You just need better PC and that tasks are CPU heavy for that rendering stuff in Traktor Pro 4 yes maybe its not optimized well but still :D when i analyzed tracks on Macbook Air M1 in rekordbox it took too long 100 tracks 2 hours , Ryzen 5 5600 - 4 minutes ? :D :D Desktop is still better and cheaper .

I have a gaming pc with a 5600X too, it just makes sense to use a laptop for DJing cause I won’t be able to take the pc to a gig

Ain't this not a far comparison.... 1000 is kinda old

I used traktor for years. So happy to be in the pioneer ecosystem now. Took a second to get the workflow down inside rekordbox, now I prefer it. Traktor was getting so annoying with folders that never close.

You’re comparing this to the 1000 that’s incorrect. Pioneer stopped making the 1000 forever ago dude. The flx10 in the replacement and has been the replacement for the 1000 for a while. It’s a disservice to create videos like this without explicitly stating if you want to play anywhere outside your bedroom, buy pioneer. They have a grip on the industry and there’s nothing anyone can do about it. Traktors gear around the world doesn’t see anywhere besides the bedroom. Pioneer prices the way they do because they can and their products are the way they are because the whole thing with pioneer is getting you club ready. To be a “real dj” The illogical criticism is silly.

Hey, I think it’s a bit funny that you’re treating your personal views as facts! I’m comparing it to the 1000 because, well, that’s what I’ve been using-and they actually came out the same year, so I’m not sure what you’re referring to there. 😅 Also, I mention in the video that I take my controller to private parties-there are plenty of DJs who do this, and it’s definitely not limited to the bedroom! Zedd, for example, takes his Traktor setup to events like Ultra, which is far from a bedroom👀 At the end of the day, it’s all about making decisions based on what works best for you-not just because one company “has a grip on the industry.” Gotta think beyond that! And, fun fact, Laidback Luke doesn’t even touch Pioneer gear because he’s found what works for him. You think he’d be where he is if he had the same mentality? 😏 Plus, owning a Traktor doesn’t mean you can’t play at clubs using Pioneer gear. Trust me, you don’t lose your ability to beatmatch just because you switch brands! 😂👀 Lastly, I’d be doing a disservice as a content creator if I only recommended one brand. That wouldn’t be fair to anyone watching! Thank you but….chill😂

native instruments has their own issues, but pioneer, and alphatheta to a point, is just straight up overrated. ive looked into many pioneer dj products, ive downloaded rekordbox, i think i even messed around with the cdj2000s in a store once. which, did you know that the 15 year old cdj 2000s still go for $1k each on the used market? and on top of that, there are not many changes to the designs of even the 2 refreshes to the cdj2000s. the features of the 3000 shouldve come on the NXS2. i mean, its great that the 2000s have survived for as long as they have, but still, there comes a certain point where a lack of innovation just stifles the creativity and innovation of the art of DJing.

4:00 I don't understand whats wrong with that? If you buy any other car without heathed seats,but you need it, the conversion will be expensive and the result won't be factory level. If you buy that BMW without this option, you can still get it later.
@thozimusic2 ай бұрын
My friend, they give you a car with heated seats and then turn the feature off, and then charge you to turn it on, you don’t see a problem with that? 😂… it costs them $0 to turn it on and they don’t need to service it or anything. There’s a reason why they ended up cancelling the thing, it’s bad business practice
@pharkasj2 ай бұрын
@@thozimusic That is not the point. Why would anyone order a new BMW with heated seats , if they could just ask them to turn it on for free a week later?
@vdglife2 ай бұрын
@@pharkasj You wouldn't be able to turn it on for free. It is a subscription they were charging $18 per month for. Who knows if they add on additional charges like activation fees, State Fees, Federal Fees, etc. Once you add in all the charges it would have been cheaper to get the seats converted.
@pharkasj2 ай бұрын
@@vdglife There is no monthly fee if you buy the car with this extra . Other manufacturers offer 2 options : buy the car with heated seats or convert it. BMW gave you this 3rd one.
@vdglife2 ай бұрын
@@pharkasj But you still payed for the seats. they are just removing the option. Here is a better way to explain it. If you were to purchase car seats without the heating the seats would be $1000 for the pair. For heated seats it is $2000 for the pair including installation. With BMW you are still paying the $2000 for the seats but not having the option to use the heating even though you paid for it. In addition it is a subscription, not a one time additional charge, that would cost more than the seats cost in the long run. There is a lot more that subscription for car features can cause issues with. However in the end it is just a way for BMW (and other car companies) to take more money from you and provide you with less.
