Thanks for sharing. I'm a video newbie and gone a similar way. I bought a SmallRig cage for the Ninja V which comes with loads of mount points a HDMI clamp and a useful hood which is pretty effective even in bright sunshine. For a matte box I considered a PP Basecamp as I already used a 2-5 VND from Polar Pro. But ultimately decided the Tilta Mirage was better, cheaper, has a higher VND range (2-9 but suggest max is really 8 stop), takes industry standard 4x5.65 filters or cheaper non proprietary 92mm round filters (much cheaper). It's also power adjustable with a Tilta hand control - much like follow focus. I'm curious why you find a 70-135 cinema lens so good - what do you shoot that best suits that? I would have thought that a 24-70 and a 70-200 GM mkii might work even better with either AF or manual focus when needed. I'm lucky having had both lenses in my stills shooting kit, as well as several fast GM primes. I'm happy that focus breathing is now available on my new FX3. My main issue is up skilling myself. I need to do a lot of practice and learning to get really proficient.

Great video. With the V-mount battery mounted there does it interfere with accessing the camera buttons and control wheel?

Love it Chris! I've got quite a similar setup for the A7SIII, except for the tilta handle. It seems really nice, and would fix some of the frustrations I have with my current rig. I might need to try it 🖖

Bought an a7r3a to compliment the a7siii's. Working on making a 20 year old Tamron 70210 with leaded glass work, and this lens is the sweetest picture quality -ever-. But seriously, what's with the commentary about the lens paint? Smallrig added a tiny splash of colour to their cages, but why not some serious colour? We're not Henry Ford from the 20's, are we? hehe heh.. Good video. Keep trucking!

The White paint gets a little dirty so I have to wipe it down with a wet wipe after my shoots! I love the white, it just needs a little more care! And props to that lens! I'm sure the image looks freaking awesome!

Honestly, it feels weird to love a camera as much as I loved my Black Magic. Still an incredible camera but the lightweight and versatile nature of the FX3 fits my current clients so much better than my BMPCC!

@@ChrisFranklinJr I can imagine! At this point, it’s really about the extras. The image quality is pretty much identical but weight, use, form factor, among other things are determining factors. Glad you finally settled on something that makes YOU happy!

When it comes to interviews do you run an xlr cable directly into the fx3 or do you run a external recorder? Your work inspired me to get into corporate interviews!

I just sold my tilta Nano-N kit. I felt the motor was not strong anoth for stiff lenses such as my SLR 25mm. And Also had way to often signal interference. Cant rely on client shoots with equipment that fails on you at the wrong moment. I figured spending more on this item & not go with Tilta on this item. What is your real experience with it?

Wow really? I personally haven't experienced any of that yet, but I can definitely keep my eyes open for it! So far, mine has been pretty smooth for what I've used it for.
