For small explanation, Bastien, the black hair boy, is the child of Neuvillette and Wriothesley and was investigating Wriothesley's murder. Upon finding out the Lyney was a main suspect, Bastien remembered the time he visited the House of the Hearth when his father (Neuvillette) would visit it. There, Bastien met Théophile (the white, mix with red, hair boy) and noticed that he didn't seem to express any emotions. Bastien made it his goal to friend Théophile and make him happy, to express emotions, and the two became childhood friends and had a connection that the both of them couldn't explain or even express. The two soon lost communication after some time. After finding out that Lyney could be involved in his father's (Wriothesley's) murder, he began to hate everyone in the House of the Hearth, and when Théophile appeared in the Fortress of Meropide for a mission, he was confused about Bastien's hatred for him and, even though he didn't expression, he was hurt by it....
