Dear Rappers was the first record. He wrote it with the last half of his last cigarette, after it he walked in told Nova, I think this is the song. And bc they had no power, they couldn't pay it. They would run an cord to their neighbors apartment. Thats why their first video is in black and red.

Great reaction! I love this song, and it's often over looked. A lot people below have told you "Dear Rappers" was the song he went viral on, that is correct. Then he wrote "Helluvit" after that came "White Boy" and that's the song he really got known for. It was actually a response to "Dear Rappers" because so many people said he was racist, because the song was going after rappers. A lot of people automatically assumed he was talking about black rappers and he wasn't he was going after the content of the current rap music, regardless who wrote it. I think Tom was sober in this video, but was still dealing with the punishment he put his body through during his addiction problem. It was also before he started his work out regiment. DEAR RAPPERS is the one that went viral. He had a half a cigarette left and he wrote it as he sat out on his front porch smoking that last cig. He came back in and told Nova he had just wrote the song that was going to change everything. He went and recorded it while she got ready to shoot video. You have to check out ‟ *SELLOUT* ˮ by Tom soon. He put it out I believe around the end of 2020 ६ it explains a lot more about his mentality towards him becoming famous ६ him making money. It’s more vulnerable but such an introspective look at how his come up has been. Plus the actual MV is my personal favorite MV (besides ‟Gang Gangˮ by Nova) because of the BTS/Vlog type feel, ६ it shows them packing up ६ moving out of their old small house in the ghetto, into their new house. Ok, here I go. You should react to some of Tom's earlier videos from when he was young and still partying. "Number 7", "Wannabe," "Wayoff," etc. About his mental health: I have Tom's same chronic condition. We both self-medicated and got out of it. Tom said he transferred his addictive behavior to making music as therapy, so that's why he pushes so hard. He's afraid of falling back. He avoids medication because he was addicted to pills, but it sucks because we sometimes need it. I know that if I don't take it, I can't function at all. "Dear Rappers" was the song that went viral and made him over a mil. The last time I checked, it was worth about 25mil. Tom writes for himself, but he hopes that it helps others as well. #hangovergang

There are few things I think aged him and increased his weight. 1. He works 20 hours a day every day 2. Covid Pandemic has kept him locked in the house.. He is in L.A. with strict lockdown laws and Nova is high risk for Covid because she has Asthma 3. He has time every day to work out and he has been working out hard for the last 2 years... alot of his weight is also muscle. He has had a very successful few years, but he has gotten in this work-a-holic cycle that is causing him to change physically as well.

This was pre lockdowns I believe. When the lockdowns started (Nova has severe asthma) almost all of their videos were recorded at their home. And Tom started working out heavy to try and keep his mental health stable, I think that's a lot of the weight difference you're seeing.

Dear rappers was his first viral video and that’s what Tom was referring to Dear rappers description Tom and Nova both were completely broke the night that he wrote this song. They were facing eviction from their apartment that was infested with mice and roaches and also had no electricity because they couldn’t pay the bill. Tom sat out on the front stoop and lit his last half cigarette and typed these lyrics into his phone. He said it was like an Epiphany struck him after he finished writing it and that he got really excited and ran in the house and told Nova that he had just written the one that was going to change everything! They recorded the video that night after Tom recorded the vocals! The reason the video was so simplistic is because they only had one light which was hooked up to an extension cord plugged in to a neighbors house. Nova covered the bulb with red wax paper to give it the red tint! Tom said he borrowed a total of $1000 from five different people to pay for advertising of the video on Facebook and KZbin and it went viral in three days!! And the rest is history! Tom had been clean at least two years at the time of this video. He just hadn’t been set up in his home with his workout equipment at this time. Since they settled in their home he has been on a work out routine lifting weights and of course nova feeds him well. Also he just quit smoking cigarettes about six months ago before he dropped “withdrawals”
