I can speak on that topic about your son. I accumulate stuff all summer and don’t list very often but when I do it I sell stuff. Now it’s usually rare and has a high sell through rate. It sells quickly and I’m competitive with the price. I’ve seen people in fb groups talk about no sales and then I look in their store and there’s nothing in there I’d buy. I think it’s absolutely vital to have quality and rare/cool items in your store to bring traffic in.

I have 300(and growing) item store. would sell 1-5 items a day. Rarely a day without a sale. I quit listing for 2 weeks in Nov and got absolutely crushed for about a month. 10 days straight, 0 sales. Got back on my rocker again early December and sales took back off like crazy. I learned the hard way..lol

You are so right. I waited so long to buy my Rollo printer. After a successful Q4 last Christmas I finally took the leap and bought one. Best business decision ever. I ask myself all the time why I waited. As far as listing goes, I list 10 a day and I get it done first thing in the morning while I sip my coffee. On the days that I thrift and leave the house early I may par down a bit but I never miss a day of listing at least a few things. For me it's definitely a discipline thing. I don't want to get out of the groove now that I'm in it.

I have to have an enema man for the new year because I quit a corporate job of 20 years to start reselling because of you, Danni Ackerman, the Crazy Lamp Lady, Dave NC Picker. Binge watched you all and gained a wealth of knowledge and inspiration to do something that brings me joy. I LOVE it so far, every bit of it! But...as you already know, things are slow till you build your sales, positive feedback, etc. I'm convinced the enema man will be a life changer for me!! 🙂

I try to list at least 5-10 items every day but this pregnancy has been really hard on me so a lot of days I just don’t feel well enough but I try to make up for it on the days I feel good. I hardly ever go a day without a sale and most of the time it’s several sales. I would love to get an Eneman for the new year as my death pile has overflowed into a second room and taken over the room that I need to turn into our nursery come June and I need to get this stuff moving out of here!

I learn a lot from your videos and I watch a lot on my tv and forget to come back on here and like and comment sometimes. I had a bad experience on EBay years ago that put me off selling. I was pretty desperate for money and was selling off my clothes when someone made a claim 6 weeks later that they didn’t receive their item. I lost my case with EBay, I tried appealing, I had proof it was delivered but they closed it. I lost a lot of money as it all had to be refunded plus their bank charges. I’ve got quite a few items to sell so an Enema Man would certainly help me get things moving again. Thanks Kevin and Merry Christmas to you and your family. 🎄❤

I've a similar history on eBay having been selling--sometimes full-time, sometimes part--since 2001. At the end of the day, if you don't have items that _somebody_ wants then you aren't going to sell, regardless of what activity you undertake. However... my personal observation is that listing correlates closely with sales activity. I've tracked this over the last two decades (yes, I'm an obsessive data hound--possibly comes from my one-time occupation as a Systems Engineer or maybe my years as a high school IT teacher) and the correlation is marked, not only in the sales of newly listed stock but also in the turnover of older listings. My breakdown in sales is pretty consistent; around a third are recent listings (within the last 10-14 days) while the balance are from older listings. The recent listings have a much higher sell through rate (as they form a smaller proportion of the total stockholding than one third)--which is what one would expect. However when I have a push on listings sales of both older and newer stock increase proportionally. Keeping all other factors consistent--quality of listing, key word optimisation, photos, promotion and competitive pricing--simply listing more produces increased sales. Although I have listed daily (more or less--I'm only human and do actually have a life away from eBay) for over 20 years, in recent months I have made a concerted effort to increase the volume of listings as I am anticipating returning to reselling full time. For each of the last five months turnover has increased by 20-50% month on month. Indeed, the sell through rate has improved to the degree that my total number of active listings has actually gone down as listing is not keeping up with sales. I should add that many of my recent listings have not been 'prime' stock as I have (more or less) refrained from sourcing for the last 6 months and focused on reducing my substantial mountain of reserve stock (aka 'death pile') in the hope that I can, one day, reduce back to one storage unit! Nevertheless, stock old and new continues to sell in line with the amount of listing activity. The trend generally lags by one day--ie low listing volume day 1 reflected in lower sales day 2 and vice versa for increased sales. Whether this is algorithmic or simply that new listings get more eyes on my store is difficult to know without getting behind the scenes of the eBay back end. Incidentally, I do routinely review and refresh my listings for exactly the reasons described: to pick up errors and omissions, to check pricing is still appropriate and to consider whether a listing might be better pulled entirely and maybe combined into a larger lot (or, conversely, broken up, either figuratively or literally--if in doubt...). It continues to surprise me that, even as an experienced reseller, glaring errors can creep into listings. In recent months, for example, I've found listings with the wrong photos, obvious discrepancies between titles and descriptions and pricing both for the items and shipping that are clearly way off the mark (to the extent that they were never right--an item worth £10 listed at £50, presumably a badly edited 'sell similar'}. TLDR? No silver bullets. Attractive stock sells better. List to sell. Review listings to pick up stupid errors and maintain market competitiveness. Over-long comment I'll place squarely at the door of my time teaching; hard to resist the temptation to lecture! Now then, boys and girls, any questions on what we have covered...?
@MrPaulMorris2 жыл бұрын
@@johndough23 Yes, as I said, new listings put more eyes on your account so that should certainly be a factor. However, according to eBay (whom we all, of course, implicitly trust) the majority of searches (and hence sales) come via the default Best Match algorithm so I suspect there is more than one factor at play.

It’s a simple concept carried over from my days in retail. Customers don’t shop in your stock room. Basically If it’s not out on a “sales floor” or on display, it definitely won’t sell. So the more you list the more you give yourself a chance to sell

I think the answer is diligence. When we are diligent in our work, God blesses. I listed a bunch of items for my client today. We aren’t in a hurry to sell. These hosiery items are size E, which is a limited market, but larger ladies are accustomed to paying more. And these hosiery items are discontinued from QVC, so anyone who was used to buying these items will be happy to be able to get them. I listed them a bit on the higher side. There were about 20 pieces of hosiery, some going in lots and some as singles. I was diligent getting the job done. I think it’s going to be a good deal for her.

I listed one week straight and was at 555 items listed. I stopped listing for two weeks and sold 28 items in those two weeks. So I don’t really buy into the listing theory. But the “being active” theory is something else. I could be without a sale for days and when I send out offers I usually get a sale a few hours later, and not from the offers I make. In my opinion, I don’t really like sending out offers cause I feel it keeps my item relevant and I rarely get a sale anyway from sending offers. Not sure if that makes sense to anyone.

I've tried in the past to listen to people saying list at least 1 thing a day for the algorithm. Here is the thing, if your items are desirable, they will sell. If you list things that will be dead inventory, you luck out by selling things. Most people call it "waiting for the right buyer."

I found that part of my discipline is to schedule time off because I tend to work every day if I don't. I'm a much better picker and reseller when I have personal time allotted on a regular basis. It doesn't have to be an entire day every time, but it usually is because it begins to feel like a "job" otherwise. I think it clears the mind and clears the cache and cookies so to speak to schedule mental and physical rest.

Great content. One thing I do (and yes, I am disciplined but not necessarily every day listing as I have another business and during summer, I am additionally sourcing and gardening and harvest/canning, so a day may pass me by) if an item isn't selling is to INCREASE the price. I often will sell the item shortly afterwards. Sometimes the title, the photos, the description is great but instead of lowering the price, I increase the price. I have an eBay business for 24 years (1998).

It really depends on what you're selling. If you are selling plumbing parts, you just have to put the brand and part number in the title, and somebody who needs one will find you. It doesn't matter much if your pictures are not too good, and buyers will overlook a little negative feedback and slow shipping. Nobody likes to pay $50 for a valve at the supply place when you can get one for $25 on eBay.

Well, as long as I have sold on eBay, I have also been a buyer on eBay. I know that I search using two filters. "Newly listed" and "lowest price". I have noticed that things that I have recently listed always sells better than older listings. This is where the "good till cancelled" BIN listings are not good for selling. I suspect that eBay implemented that more to impress investors than to be helpful to sellers because it really hurts us in many ways. It clutters up the site with to many stale listings that are hard to manage. I'm not a consistent lister, mostly because I have another job that can be demanding. Things continue to sell if they are in demand even if I don't list, but sales always increase when I list because if your listing is new, more people see it naturally. This is why you should periodically end listings on older ones, tweak them if necessary then sell similar with a new ID number.

I tried to get off the mailing list, telling them not to waste my money by sending me more "stuff". It never worked. I finally just stopped giving and asked to be removed from their mailing list. All that to say that I would regularly receive the dream catchers and sell them in the yard sale for $0.25 - $0.50. The fact that the one you had went for $21.95 made me fall out of my chair! I hope Turner feels better soon and am glad that Reagan already is. My daughter has the "crud" right now, so we're all trying to stay away from her. Hi Kevin, I regularly watch all three channels and love the content you offer. I have learned the most about reselling from your channel. I live in Toronto Canada, and a Eneman would be great to help things move out of my eBay store FurlongPole Treasures.

I would LOVE a Enima man. I'm a disabled single father and have been struggling lately. Maybe this will get me off My (BUT) to list more. Thanks for the consideration and may GOD bless you and your family.

I just started reselling again full time in August and I have really enjoyed your videos and learned a lot. Sales have been average, but could definitely use the Enema man to get things moving a lot faster! -Ronni Treasures and Wishes

Where most people used Black Friday to buy gifts, I was buying inventory. Now I have TONS of action figures here and in transit. I may have gone a little overboard. I think I need an Eneman to quickly move all these toys out of here 😆

Enemaman - I just want to keep things moving nice and steady into the new year. Especially since it is now winter and yard and garage sales have dried up.

Watch your videos for motivation. Sometimes you have to work with what you have. Most of my stock is from my parents who are retired veterans and antique dealers/resellers back in the day. They use to teach an antique class at the local community college. They have more than enough stock that they didn't sell before retiring. I'm trying my best with what I have. My downfall is my local thrift store, and not enough space at home. Wish I had a storage shed. Anyhow I do need to get things moving in my Ebay store. My mom kerps asking me when I can bring more items over. I'm learning how to become a little more streamlined. Trying to learn how to research more effectively. I'm trying to list items daily. Not sure if enemaman will help things move. I have space next to my horse lamp, ty teddy bear, and ty zebra on my desk. I really think I need to quit making excuses for not getting things done. Maybe stepping out of my comfort zone, and start to cross list to another platform.

Hi Kevin! I was excited to see you pull my order of the Rae Dunn dog bowl and the ET goodies. I’m trying my best to keep my e bay listings going strong. I have more listed now than I ever have before at one time. I am planning to get a store started in January and I just know that if I had an eneman things would really get moving then! I would love to win the eneman ! Thanks!

Hoping someday an enemaman will show up here and be in a different spot every day like them elfs, but all year long. I know my stuff won't magically get listed before the next morning but it's a great reminder. My daycare kiddos would think that's awesome and look for him every day.

I need the eneman because my store needs all the help it can get. Sorry if I missed spelled it. I keep missing the name of your new puppy.
