Awesome video Kaiya!!! I do appreciate all your deep dives, reviews and reactions you upload!! My top 3 albums are Black Seeds, Nephren Ka and Annihilation. I adore you Hun, always so beautiful. Oh and I love your skits!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Nice sketches in this video ;) My favourite Nile album as a whole is Nephren-Ka, but the best track for me is Unas Slayer of the Gods off In Their Darkened Shrines - absolutely epic. Vile Nilotic Rites was such a welcome back for me after a couple of okay albums in a row.

I pretty much agree with the entire breakdown, the standout exception is The Underworld Awaits Us All. Initially I had a reaction similar to yours. There is not a lot to latch on to because while the songwriting and instrumentation are more brutal than many previous releases, the production isn't. However, I think that the techdeath-aspect does hold up and I think the album is a grower because the production at least lets us hear everything clearly. Since the compositions also still very much sound like Nile, I for one am going to let this album stew for longer.

Back when I got into metal Nile was one of my top 3 go-to bands (beside Behemoth and Cannibal Corpse) and I have a lot of love for them. Those Whom the God's Detest was the album back then and it's still my favorite of them. Even the packaging of the digipack was unmatched. However when Sethu came out I was so shocked, as the sound of it is completely out of my understanding and I sticked to the former albums and What Should not be Unearthed. Was still very happy to finally see them live in ~2016 and the feeling of giant stones moved by slaves is 100% right there when on stage. 1. Those Whom the Gods Detest 2. Annihilation of the Wicked 3. Ithyphallic
@cavemanstyle1376Ай бұрын
Nile is the shit.. why would I not want to listen to every album? 😂 Catacombs is my favorite. Gates of Sethu might be my #2. Annihilation and In their Darkened Shrines also favorites.

Thanks for making this! Nile are my favorite DM band! Been a fan since “Annihilation “ came out! Saw them open for Cannibal Corpse 5+ years ago and Nile stole the show. Anyways keep up the great content! Everyone should definitely listen to all of their albums!

Also if your into Karl Sanders’ more folksy traditional Egyptian instrumentals check out his solo albums Saurian Meditation(2004), Saurian Exorcisms(2009) & Saurian Apocalypse (2022). Enjoy!

Kollias is arguably the best out there. Great addition since Annihilation which is beloved by most us Nile's fans. Sad about Dallas leaving the band. Karl very cool taking a picture with me after a gig in NYC. Songs I really dig are Ramses bringer of war, 4th arra of Dagonand of course Annihilation

Ithyphallic is easily my favorite Nile album. All the songs are memorable, which I cannot say for most of their albums to be honest. I also think their best lyrics/concepts are on this album. I am biased because it was the first Nile album I listened to, but every Nile album has a few songs are exceptionally better than the rest, except Ithyphallic in my opinion. Every song on that album are equally enjoyable and great to me.

Production on ithyphallic is kinda flat and at first I didn't much care for it, but it grew on me.
@Agalloch1234Ай бұрын
@@cavemanstyle1376 I don’t really care about the production on an album as long as it’s not extremely overproduced or physically hurts to listen to.
@Giganotabehemoth87Ай бұрын
@@Agalloch1234 Just like you, Ithyphallic was my first so I also have that introductory bias from this album. Every song is killer and the production doesn't let it down if you equalize it well it sounds massive and clear. In retrospect though you can tell the band eased up a tiny bit on the intensity, and then returned all pissed off again with Those Whom... then they tapered off again with Sethu, returned hard with What Should... lol. They peaked with Annihilation though and then coasted on that for several years imo. I went off on a little tangent but yeah Ithyphallic is a masterpiece, a middle ground of sorts between old and new Nile. It was the last album from them where the guitars sounded fucking heavy and juicy and properly Egyptian fuelled, the riffs were memorable catchy. Afterwards they started to care too much about production and lost their original spark. I can't stand their last two without Dallas.
@robotmechanicalwhizkid2521Ай бұрын
I think ithyphallic is a bit overlooked because of its production which can make it a bit flat and not as bass heavy and it came after annihilation of the wicked which was very well received (and is better produced) so maybe a bit too much expectation but in my opinion that is probably my favourite of theirs just because the song writing is top notch and memorable

I've never cared for Nile for a while now, I think since I started my Extreme metal journey back in 2019. And with their newest album out, and how many people tell me "You love Death Metal? You like Egyptian mythology? CHECK NILE NOW!" So I gotta change that now..

Colonel Sanders should watch all 10 seasons of Stargate SG-1 for lyric inspiration and start an Egyptian Sci-Fi side band that sh*t would be brutal lol.
