Was the battery pack too big to hide inside the nook compartment in the back of the helmet? I know, the on-off reachability will not be optimal, but at least everything will be hidden inside the helmet. Maybe sticking it there with Velcro for fast and easy removal could do the trick.

The only issue with the airflite is if you have a large head/ears is that the plastic around the earpiece in the helmet will cut your ear.......from firsthand experience I know this.
