After spending so much time looking at Sprinter conversion videos, I have to say that I find these box SUV set ups to be much more appealing to me for some reason (and overall less intimidating to approach as a project). I might just have to pick up one of these older landrover models!
@FrankFramesThings Жыл бұрын
Yeah so much more character with the Box SUV's or bigger SUV's (even a Patrol is nice for camp setup), but the downside is that you can't stand up and have limited space, so you need to get out more :)

nice, had an 02 110 hard top for last five years more or less stock but with time on my hands have removed tub bulkhead and have started looking for ideas to convert to bed and kitchen you have plenty of realistic mods that are functional

Nice build. Please provide more information on the engine diagnostics product mentioned in the video. Thanks

Thanks man! Well i think it's a bit too technical to go into in the videos. But the diagnostics product is the Nanocom. Google that and you'll find their website to order from ;)

I'm curious as to why you showed "platform" in text as you said it. I listened to that segment a few times to make sure and it sounds to me like you said it correctly.
@FrankFramesThings4 жыл бұрын
It was just to emphasise on the word, specially since I said it so many times. So no deeper meaning, just a silly joke. And keywords are nice ;)

Hey there! I was curious about your roof rack, where did you purchase the mounts/brackets, or how did you build it? Looks awesome!
@FrankFramesThings4 жыл бұрын
I ordered the bars (including the brackets) from FlatdogUK, then build the rest with wood, bolts that slide into the bars and then wood finish

Just came across you channel. Love the build, but I do have a question. Does the solar controller compensate the high current from the battery when starting or do you switch it off? P.s. if you're Flemish and it's more convenient for you, you can answer in dutch. Geen probleem...
@FrankFramesThings4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Xander. The solar controller is connected directly to the leisure battery, so it doesn't charge the starter battery or interfere with the car circuit. This is possible since I don't have an automated dual battery setup, I have a manual switch to decide if the accessories run on battery 1, 2 or 1+2. That last setting I only use together with a cutoff on the starter negative to be able to charge bat 2 with the alternator, I never start on bat 2 since its not made for starting. So the short answer, the solar controller isn't connected to the starter circuit when starting. PS: I do speak dutch, but I thought the answer could be interesting for others ;)

Land Rover = Rust bucket!
@FrankFramesThings4 жыл бұрын
not if you maintain it, also with less than 50% steel on the car its definetly more manageable than non-aluminium body cars.
