In Australia, these things are everywhere, however you rarely see Defenders kitted out, it's usually Landcruiser mobile fridges. MPG figures will be 'interesting'.

You could go anywhere with that, I would take it across Europe in winter.

Gracias por los subtítulos en español. Un vídeo muy completo. Yo tengo un defender también y quiero viajar con él hasta cabo norte. Lo quiero camperizar pero no sé si en España hay la empresa que realiza el cambio de techo. Me has dado muchas ideas. Gracias.

Doesn’t look as though it’s done a single mile anywhere other than popping to Harvey nicks or Harrods for some champers for Tarquins party.

biggest miss here - and especially for going through slightly dodgy areas is that you are cut off from the cab- if you need to access the back you are forced to move outside- I suspect this is really for people who a) never will go "wild" or b) stay in Europe ....

In the thumbnail, the van is sat there with the roof up, the awning extended and then the video maker sat out in the middle of the field with his table, chair and beer. So what was the bloody point of the several thousand spent? You could just have a landrover and a beer.

Shame it's illegal on UK roads. Driving with spot lights or work lights and dipped beam. It's also pretty much throw money at it and you get the vehicle. Nothing really differnet to the other few hundred out there these days.
@jdenmark12872 жыл бұрын
It’s a nicely sorted defender, like hundreds of others kitted out just like it. Hyperbole isn’t really necessary for a good presentation, mate.

Great build. But… With a vehicle with obviously so much value, a carnet de passages will cost an absolute fortune And in a lot of African and Asian countries vhf radios are illegal. Even in the uk, you will need to pass a test and get an ham radio licence, unless of course you mean CB.

Failed at the first hurdle. It is a COUNTY Station wagon, not COUNTRY. The saying goes, “you can drive a Land Rover into the outback, but you can drive a Toyota back home”. I’ve had numerous LR products all crap for reliability. I was a fool and purchased a Toyota instead. Why do you think no one in the Middle East drives a Land Rover?
@douglaseuritt3919 Жыл бұрын
I have found both my prior 1964 IIA 88 and my current 1988 110 to be reliable, though I admit that it requires more attention from the owner to be so. I understand the arguments for a Toyota and don't doubt it does everything you ask of it. But at the end of the day it's a toaster, by which I mean that its utility is its only selling point. Put another way, it has no soul. The value of an old Land Rover is everything except its utility (which it certainly has in spades). It is analogous to a Douglas DC-3: More work for the driver. Slower and noisier than more modern designs. The subtle smell of gasoline and grease. The chorus of rattles and squeaks. And that firm feedback from the roadway that drive-by-wire and multi-link suspensions hide from you. I drive vintage Land Rovers because I want to DRIVE On the other hand, it's Christmas evening, I've had a few and I could be full of (Christmas Cheer). Merry Christmas Metal.
