This seems very trippy. I would love to give this book to a random person outside a coffeehouse in Amsterdam (the ones that sell weed, not coffee XD)

Can Xue reminds me of Elfriede Jelinek, the Austrian. Difficult to sit down to grasp at first but very very very much later you might begin to see it.

Help - this video has thrown me into an existential crisis and I can't get up.

This video messed with my head! These questions about understanding each other and the meaning / importance of communication and language have lived inside my head for a long time and I am too afraid asking them and being led into a black hole of emptiness for never finding the answers 😩😂 Great video as per usual!🤍

or worse: finding out, that whatever the answer is, it makes no difference. I survived, though, thinking isn't that important after all.

Excellent review. I find reading Can Xue is like reading a book authored by Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder itself. And I question whether that is intentional.

OK I have listened to this twice and I still don't think I am going to have a good time with it. For me (based solely on your content) she is trying to join too many dots in one book.

I read Vertical Motion a few years ago. She's a phony as far as I'm concerned.

@@KDbooks Her stories are mostly nonsense as far as I'm concerned. Nobody seems to know what they mean, and whenever anyone asks her, she tells them they have to find the meaning in them themselves. Of course, she is writing way beyond her time, so all as mere mortals are just too stupid to understand the meanings.
