ADDITIONAL NOTES: -The voice of the woman in the recording. I've listened to that probably 100 times over the last two years, I truly do not believe it is English, to me it sounds like a Native American language. Whatever language it is, it sounded like a 2 syllable word. Someone asked if maybe the voice was my sister in another room. No, the microphone I use is also the same one my friend uses, the way it's designed to record sound is that the source of the sound must be directly in front of the microphone, and close to it as well. Notice that when I talk about the figure that stood next to me, I leaned back and you could tell that the volume of my voice reduced greatly the further away I got from the microphone. So to hear the voice that clearly, you must be within 3-5 feet of the very front of the microphone. -A lot more things happened in the apartment that I couldn't really fit in this video. I originally recorded a 1 hour long session of this story but cut it down due to how long the video was. But things like doors opening and closing, footsteps in the apartment when no one else was around, and lights seemingly shutting themselves off. If I had for any reason thought that another living person in the apartment was the cause of these things, I wouldn't even mention it. -We also saw the tall figure during the daytime. It wasn't always night (that's just the stories that managed to make the final cut of this video). But we would see the figure in various areas of the apartment, sometimes standing in the hallway looking at us. -We were only disturbed by it because of its obviously scary appearance, but I do NOT believe its intention was to scare us. Because it seemed as if each time we noticed it was there and we started to get the heebie jeebies, then it would suddenly disappear. I think the ghost was definitely more intelligent than just a residual energy or memory, I think he wanted to be seen, but not feared and that's why he would disappear as soon as we would get freaked out. -After a year of living with the ghost, we weren't as scared by him as we used to be. If we saw him in the corner of our eye while we did chores, we just went about our business. And yes, he did appear everywhere in the house. There were times where I saw him or felt his presence, only momentarily, while I was in the bathroom. He basically just had free roam of the house. And the dog often sensed him too, she wasn't always scared of him, but she did stare at him while he stared right back. Definitely the most active paranormal experiences I've ever had.

Your explanation theory at the end makes perfect sense. If you feel you need help in any given circumstances, you attempt whatever you can that seems logical. If you are only capable of communicating with one or two people, then you put your efforts into that avenue of possible help. On another note, it is kind of ironic that you would put this video out as I am just trying to complete my (long overdue) third & final video about a paranormal series of incidents that occurred at my home back in the years 2012 - 2014(ish). So, the title and subject matter of your video definitely caught my attention. I don't mean to bogart attention via this comment, but if you are curious as to the nature of what I dealt with, the videos about the events are called "Creepy Accounts of the Lester Poltergeist."

Some of the things you recounted really rang true with me. I saw a cat walk past my bedroom door once, in an apartment I lived in many years ago. I remember it clear as day…full grown tabby cat…and it was in the broad sunlight. Much later one night, I heard the springy door stopper near the hallway baseboard vibrating loudly. I was home alone (we had no pets) so I went to check it out. It was still vibrating when I turned on the hallway light. 🤷🏻♀️

Thank you for sharing this story as I have seen a ghost or 2 in the last few months working downtown in the city I live. It freaked me out as I didn't expect these 2 at different times to just show themselves to me. The best thing that I have done is I prayed because one of the spirits was not very friendly while the other one seemed lost. I really don't go chasing ghosts, but the downtown area I work is haunted for sure.

Movies like The Haunting (1963), Ghost (1990) or Sixth Sense (1999) apparently are closer to reality than assumed in the past. The 1963 movie about an eerie large house actually played down the paranormal more than it had to (was the main character just hallucinating?). At the time, apparitions, poltergeists & the supernatural still seemed more fantasy than fact. Post-1963, the cases of the Enfield (UK) Poltergeist in the 1970s, the San Pedro, Ca haunting in 1989 & the Florence, Mississippi case in 1990 (KZbin: "The House in Between - Paranormal Documentary") are well-studied cases of the paranormal. Lots of eyewitnesses. Truth is stranger than fiction.

I wondered why he appeared mostly in your apartment rather than his own until I figured that his height and cause of death might have put him towards the ceiling if you get my meaning. I tend to think real ghosts are unintelligent echoes but that one seems more like he was semi-conscious. The mystery voice sounds either tired or sad and saying "cannot" with a midwestern US accent. Also the dog seeing the mystery blue light makes sense since dogs see in blue and yellow. A friend of mine who is (was) very much not a believer in anything supernatural or divine recently had a *very* physical supernatural encounter from something that was very much unfriendly. I thought they were joking at first but then I saw the pictures and I trust that they weren't lying to me. I've never seen them so scared. They told me how they were offered a free-money deal in a dream by a very spooky looking humanoid figure and the next day it came true. I don't want to give too many details but the deal involved some very dark actions that my friend doesn't remember doing. The next night the figure came again with a bigger deal that involved what I can only describe as black magic. I told my friend that since it was an offer more than a contract they should ignore it and also go back and undo what they did before. The first offer was money and the morning after undoing the things they did two days previously they woke to find their phone entirely smashed. It's expensive and I was advising them from it so we think that's it taking its gift back. It wasn't like a demon but more some kind of nature spirit thing and I'm absolutely convinced that people were going to die if I didn't intervene. My friend sure believes now and has thoroughly learned the "wish-granters are often malicious" lesson folklore is full of. I know it sounds like it's made up because it's so extreme, but I swear it's not. This occurred soon after they had sworn to me that if something supernatural proved its existence to them then they would give it service. There are indeed Things out there. Knock on enough doors and the devil will answer.

It's my personal experience that ghost need energy from the living (in some form, in some way) to manifest. This explains why hauntings go "dormant" if a property is empty for a long time. (I've often wondered if being closed for a while settled the haunting on the Mary right down.) A good example of this is my house. When I first moved in a decade a go, paranormal activity (apparitions, shadow figures, things moving by themselves, objects vanishing entirely, disembodied voices) used to happen frequently. I grew accustomed to them, stopped paying attention to it all, and now the haunting is barely there at times. Get a guest over for a week, let them experience something, let them talk and get all excited (or freaked out, whichever.) and things start ramping up again, only to die back down, once that person has left.

@AlextheHistorian Жыл бұрын
We had all spent thousands of dollars to move up here to Oregon, so we had no money or energy to move again. It just wasn't financially feasible. We considered talking to the people downstairs. But imagine you are the parents of the kids, maybe you don't believe in ghosts and think the kids are imagining something. Then suddenly some strangers ask you if your apartment is haunted. You might think that these strangers are somehow secretly harassing your children at night and making them think they see ghosts. So we didn't want to stir up any unwanted trouble.

Weirdly, I've had a similar experience. It was probably 14-15 years ago now, (2009/2010) I was laying in bed trying to fall asleep. At that time, I had an HDMI switcher attached to my TV, and when you would switch inputs, it would make a chunky clicking noise. Laying in the bed, I heard it switch not once, not twice, not even 3 times, but 4 times in a row all in succession. It was the exact same noise so I knew specifically what it was. I was like "what the hell", opened my eyes and sat up to see a very tall figure in a full suit, just about as tall as my ceiling fan, and just the same as you I could not see his face or arms clearly, it was just a black blurr. I screamed and went under the covers. I'm not sure what could have caused it, as my Grandfather bought the dirt lot that my house sits on, so it's been in my family its whole existence. Theres been no deaths here. But I swear clear as day I saw a man in a suit standing in the middle of my room just looking at me, and probably messing with my HDMI inputs. I've never seen him since.

I rented a place that turned out to be haunted (I found out after I moved out). It was a beneficent spirit, luckily. On a couple of occasions, I forgot to set my alarm. Both times, a loud noise occurred within a few minutes of when the alarm would have gone off. Once a bath brush fell off the caddy into the bathtub; the other time a new smoke alarm went off. I doubted myself for a long time about it, but after moving out I asked my ex-neighbor, and found out there was a poltergeist.

@@AlextheHistorian you mentioned the man always wore a suit. A suit (typically) requires tying a tie. Or, in a more solemn meaning, the knot of a noo.... I'll not complete the word. Just because the voice came in sounding female may not necessarily mean it was a female. Often spirits who attempt to make contact with the living world will adopt a female or child-like voice in order to come across less threatening.

According to the Catholic Religion, when someone ends their life, their soul is practically lost. It can never move on to whatever place they need to go (heaven, purgatory, hell, etc). It stays pretty much in limbo (confused most likely) since killing yourself is one of the biggest sins, according to the Catholic Faith. According to them, your life/body doesn’t really belong to you but to GOD, so taking it (condemning yourself) disrupts the natural pattern, cycle, process, etc.
