Went to see Willie once in outdoor show scheduled to be 7 to 10 o'clock. Was pouring rain. Willie said if we would stand in rain and listen, he would stand in rain and sing. We left so 1:30 a.m. and he was still standing in rain singing to a crowd. Wonderful.

Willie Nelson is a national treasure with such a unique voice. I am so glad that he is one of the few who sang this song so very well. It is a very old song but a forever classic. The song is still so beautiful today that I wish there would be a resurgence of many of the old beautiful ballads, performed by the classical artists we have today. I recall observing on KZbin a performance by Michael Paulo, with his amazing performance of the old classic by Ray Charles, of Georgia. Paulo took that sax and played that song better than most people sing it. As a matter of fact, no one sings that song like Ray Charles anyway, then along comes Paulo, and does with an instrument, what most could not do with their voices.
